Philip Eglin was born in Gibraltar in 1959 and went on to study ceramics in Staffordshire and at the Royal<br />
College <strong>of</strong> Art, London. He was model and student <strong>of</strong> Eduardo Paolozzi. In 1996 he won the prestigious<br />
Jerwood Prize for Ceramics. He has had several solo shows at <strong>The</strong> <strong>Scottish</strong> <strong>Gallery</strong> spanning a 25 year<br />
period. Popes Pin-ups and Pooches was his last solo show with <strong>The</strong> <strong>Scottish</strong> <strong>Gallery</strong> in 2009 and within it<br />
was the full, dynamic range <strong>of</strong> artistic and expressive skill which flows from his rich, eclectic and symbolic<br />
palette. Middlesborough Institute <strong>of</strong> Modern Art acquired a major piece for their collection from this show.<br />
