Their Lord giveth them glad tid<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>of</strong> a mercy from Him and <strong>of</strong><br />
goodwill and <strong>of</strong> the Gardens where<strong>in</strong> theirs will be a delight last<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
(9: 21)<br />
And the believ<strong>in</strong>g men and believ<strong>in</strong>g women are friends one unto<br />
another: they command that which is reputable and restra<strong>in</strong> from that<br />
which is disreputable, and establish prayer and give the poor-rate and<br />
obey Allah and His apostle. Those! Allah will surely show mercy to<br />
them; verily Allah is Mighty, Wise. (9: 71)<br />
Others (there are who) have acknowledged their wrong-do<strong>in</strong>gs: they<br />
have mixed an act that was good with another that was evil. Perhaps<br />
Allah will turn unto them (<strong>in</strong> mercy): for Allah is Oft-Forgiv<strong>in</strong>g Most<br />
Merciful. (9: 102)<br />
O mank<strong>in</strong>d! There hath come unto you an exhortation from your Lord,<br />
a balm for that which is <strong>in</strong> the breasts, a guidance and a mercy for<br />
believers. (10:57)<br />
Ask pardon <strong>of</strong> your Lord and then turn unto Him (repellent). Lo! my<br />
Lord is, Merciful, Lov<strong>in</strong>g. (11: 90)<br />
Nor do I absolve my own self (<strong>of</strong> blame): the (human soul) is certa<strong>in</strong>ly<br />
prone to evil unless my Lord do bestow His <strong>Mercy</strong>: but surely certa<strong>in</strong>ly<br />
my Lord is Oft-Forgiv<strong>in</strong>g Most Merciful. (12: 53)<br />
"O my sons! go ye and <strong>in</strong>quire about Joseph and his brother and never<br />
give up hope <strong>of</strong> Allah's Sooth<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Mercy</strong>: truly no one despairs <strong>of</strong><br />
Allah's Sooth<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Mercy</strong> except those who have no faith." (12: 87)<br />
He (Joseph) said: "This day let no reproach be (cast) on you: Allah will<br />
forgive you and He is the Most Merciful <strong>of</strong> those who show mercy?<br />
(12 : 92)<br />
He (Abraham) said: And who despaireth not the mercy <strong>of</strong> his Lord save<br />
those who are astray? (15:56)<br />
