Aisha reports that a bedouin came to the Prophet and said, "You
(people) kiss the boys! We don't kiss them." The Prophet said, "I cannot
put mercy in your heart after Allah has taken it away from it."(Bukhari)
Umar reports that some Sabi (i.e. war prisoners, children and woman
only) were brought before the Prophet and behold, a woman amongst
them was milking her breasts to feed and whenever she found a child
amongst the captives, she took it over her chest and nursed it (she had
lost her child but later she found him). The Prophet said to us, "Do you
think that this lady can throw her son in the fire?" We replied, "No, if
she has the power not to throw it (in the fire)." The Prophet then said,
"Allah is more merciful to His slaves than this lady to her son."
(Bukhari)
Jarir bin Abdullah reports that the Prophet said, "He who is not merciful
to others, will not be treated mercifully." (Bukhari)
Abu Huraira says I heard Allah's Apostle saying, Verily Allah created
Mercy. The day He created it, He made it into one hundred parts. He
he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire."(Bukhari)
Anas reports that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "When a
Muslim is afflicted with some trouble in his body, the angel is told to
Allah cures him He washes and purifies him (from sins), and if He takes
him in death He forgives him and shows mercy to him." (Mishkaat)
On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with
him) from the Prophet (PBUH) is that among the sayings he relates
from his Lord (may He be glorified) is that He (God) said:
