Aisha reports that a bedou<strong>in</strong> came to the Prophet and said, "You<br />
(people) kiss the boys! We don't kiss them." The Prophet said, "I cannot<br />
put mercy <strong>in</strong> your heart after Allah has taken it away from it."(Bukhari)<br />
Umar reports that some Sabi (i.e. war prisoners, children and woman<br />
only) were brought before the Prophet and behold, a woman amongst<br />
them was milk<strong>in</strong>g her breasts to feed and whenever she found a child<br />
amongst the captives, she took it over her chest and nursed it (she had<br />
lost her child but later she found him). The Prophet said to us, "Do you<br />
th<strong>in</strong>k that this lady can throw her son <strong>in</strong> the fire?" We replied, "No, if<br />
she has the power not to throw it (<strong>in</strong> the fire)." The Prophet then said,<br />
"Allah is more merciful to His slaves than this lady to her son."<br />
(Bukhari)<br />
Jarir b<strong>in</strong> Abdullah reports that the Prophet said, "He who is not merciful<br />
to others, will not be treated mercifully." (Bukhari)<br />
Abu Huraira says I heard Allah's Apostle say<strong>in</strong>g, Verily Allah created<br />
<strong>Mercy</strong>. The day He created it, He made it <strong>in</strong>to one hundred parts. He<br />
withheld with Him n<strong>in</strong>ety-n<strong>in</strong>e parts, and sent its one part to all His<br />
creatures. Had the non-believer known <strong>of</strong> all the <strong>Mercy</strong> which is <strong>in</strong> the<br />
Hands <strong>of</strong> Allah, he would not lose hope <strong>of</strong> enter<strong>in</strong>g Paradise, and had<br />
the believer known <strong>of</strong> all the punishment which is present with Allah,<br />
he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire."(Bukhari)<br />
Anas reports that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "When a<br />
Muslim is afflicted with some trouble <strong>in</strong> his body, the angel is told to<br />
record for him his good deeds which he was accustomed to do. Then if<br />
Allah cures him He washes and purifies him (from s<strong>in</strong>s), and if He takes<br />
him <strong>in</strong> death He forgives him and shows mercy to him." (Mishkaat)<br />
On the authority <strong>of</strong> Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with<br />
him) from the Prophet (PBUH) is that among the say<strong>in</strong>gs he relates<br />
from his Lord (may He be glorified) is that He (God) said:<br />
