Perform<strong>in</strong>g Wudhû<br />
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger <strong>of</strong> Allah, may Allah bless him<br />
and grant him peace, said, "When the Muslim - or believ<strong>in</strong>g - slave does<br />
wudu' and washes his face, every wrong th<strong>in</strong>g at which his eyes have<br />
looked leaves with the water - or with the last drop <strong>of</strong> water. When he<br />
washes his hands, every wrong th<strong>in</strong>g which his hands have touched<br />
leaves with the water - or with the last drop <strong>of</strong> water. When he washes<br />
his feet. every wrong th<strong>in</strong>g to which his feet have walked leaves with<br />
the water – or with the last drop <strong>of</strong> water, until he emerges cleansed <strong>of</strong><br />
s<strong>in</strong>s." [Muslim]<br />
Narrated Uthmân ibn AffânradhiAllâhu `anhu:<br />
The Messenger <strong>of</strong> Allâh sallAllâhu `alayhi wa sallam said: He who<br />
performed ablution well, his s<strong>in</strong>s would come out from his body, even<br />
com<strong>in</strong>g out from under his nails. [Sahîh Muslim]<br />
Perform<strong>in</strong>g Prayer<br />
Narrated Uthmân ibn Affân radhiAllâhu `anhu: "I heard Allâh's Apostle<br />
sallAllâhu `alayhi wa sallam say:<br />
When the time for a prescribed prayer comes, if any Muslim performs<br />
ablution well and <strong>of</strong>fers his prayer) with humility and bow<strong>in</strong>g, it will<br />
be an expiation for his past s<strong>in</strong>s, so long as he has not committed a<br />
major s<strong>in</strong>; and this applies to for all times. [Sahîh Muslim]<br />
