Secondary Tricuspid Regurgitation
Pulmonary hypertension
In practice, complete reverse right ventricular remodeling practically
not occur, and normalization of pulmonary artery pressures alone
will not eliminate tricuspid regurgitation in many patients
(This is well demonstrated in the pulmonary thromboendarterectomy
literature, in which moderate to severe secondary tricuspid
regurgitation is reported postoperatively in 30% to 45% of patients
despite successful reduction in pulmonary arterial pressure)
