India has <strong>on</strong>ly recently embarked <strong>on</strong> c<strong>on</strong>ducting NCD surveillance. Ongoing research and its<br />

inputs would greatly facilitate the collecti<strong>on</strong> and utilizati<strong>on</strong> of data to the maximum. The future of the<br />

surveillance system will lie in its validity, timeliness, systems approach and enduring partnerships.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>solidating the gains made should pave the path for the way forward.<br />
