Gerry Spiller
I started work in the Organic Department at The Radiochemical
Centre in 1969, transferred to the Clinical Reagents Department in
1976 and remained working on the White Lion Road site until about
1989 when the Department was transferred to Pollards Wood. I
continued working at Pollards Wood for Amerlite Diagnostics, Kodak
Clinical Diagnostics and lastly Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (OCD).
When J&J closed the Pollards Wood site in July 2000 I had a brief
spell (6 Months) working in OCD Regulatory Affairs and then took
redundancy. After 6 weeks at home being bored I accepted a job
working in QA for Lonza Biologics in Slough. I continued working
part-time for Lonza until Oct 2008 and then took early retirement.
Gina Gooch (Newton)
Joined in April 1992 working initially in Life Science Group Marketing
and then into Sales. Currently working part-time as Sales Admin
Support in Life Sciences Commercial, UK. I now have two children
– Alice, 7 and Lilly 14 months.
Glynis Sutton
I worked at the Radiochemical Centre 1979 – 82 as Marketing
secretary, then went to Oz for a year. On my return (Jan 1983)
went back to work as a Marketing secretary then moved onto
a variety of Communications projects – graphic design, catalogue,
newsletter co-ordinator, rebranding, conferences, advertising, etc.
I left in October 2004 after 21 years, exhausted! Since then, I’ve
worked in Berkhamsted at a medical publishers, organising print
and workshops.
Over the last 7 years I’ve done an OU degree in Environmental studies
in my spare time, now I’m an official tree-hugger. (If anyone knows
of a local job that combines Environmental and Communications
aspects, please let me know!!!). Heavily involved in organising local
fundraising and social events, and volunteer for local hospice. Love
my garden and allotment, becoming obsessed with exercise and
fitness, after many years of being a sloth.
