J&J when OCD was created. We all loved our time at Pollards Wood
and have great memories of the parties we held in the House and
grounds. By the end of my time there, I had moved into the Research
Group and enjoyed liaising with the university research teams in
various places. I was there to the end of OCDs occupation of Pollards
Wood when a large number of us were made redundant when the
R&D was transferred to the US.
At this point I took early retirement and have since enjoyed becoming
a grandparent, a great joy to my husband Derek and I. We have also
indulged our passion for travel and continue to try and explore as
much of the world as we can afford and have the energy for.
Jim Brown
Worked at Amersham from 1992 to 2005, as President of the
international Region. Very prominent in the International trading area.
Since leaving has spent most time as Chairman / Non - Exec Director
of Public and private companies in New Zealand, Australia, Hong
Kong, China, The Middle East, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
John Anson
Joined in 1989, and left in 2005 having worked in Development,
Business Development and Marketing. Now at OGT as VP
Biomarker Discovery.
John Diment
Worked for Amersham from 1986 until the Kodak purchase of
Amersham’s Diagnostics Section. Living the Grand Design in paradise
near Cygnet, Tasmania. Property owner and farmer on 45 acres
– growing olives, eucalypts, lavenders, saffron, paddymelons
and gorse.
John McCombe
Worked for the Radiochemical Centre/Amersham/GEHC for 41 years
from September 1969 to 30/09/2010, and had 34 different jobs in
that time. Outside work, I have continued a lifelong passion for all
things connected with motorcycling, (which is fortunately shared by
my wife), and have recently toured from Vancouver to San Francisco
on a British Triumph motorcycle, and both islands of New Zealand.
We have two fine sons – the McCombe name will not disappear from
GE as my younger son now works for GE Capital.
