Helleborus x nigercors 'Honeyhill Joy'<br />
Winter blooming hellebore with abundant, large, open flowers <strong>of</strong> greenish white with creamy centers, all<br />
facing outwards and upwards and contr<strong>as</strong>ting with the green-tinted-blue foliage for a lovely winter display.<br />
This hybrid, from -- you guessed it -- Honeyhill Farms, is one several selections <strong>of</strong> crosses between H. niger<br />
and H. argutifolius. Evergreen, forming clumps, to 12-18" tall x wide, in part sun to light shade with summer<br />
water. Frost hardy in <strong>USDA</strong> <strong>zone</strong>s 5-8. Said to be deer resistant.<br />

Green-edged, bronze foliage overlayed with marble patterns and creamy white flowers on short panicles in<br />
June and July. To 1 ft x 1 ft in sun to part shade with regular summer water. E<strong>as</strong>y in rich soil. And e<strong>as</strong>y to<br />
divide and replant. Evergreen in the most Pacific Northwest winters and frost hardy to -20F, <strong>USDA</strong> <strong>zone</strong> 5.<br />

Hibiscus syriacus -white leaves/ pink flwrs rose <strong>of</strong> sharon<br />
A nice selection <strong>of</strong> a popular plant, this rose <strong>of</strong> sharon h<strong>as</strong> leaves that emerge white and darken to green and<br />
pink flowers in summer. A deciduous shrub, multi-stemmed to 6-8 ft tall x 4-8 ft wide, that is e<strong>as</strong>ily pruned to<br />
tree form. Prefers rich soil in full sun to part shade with average moisture but tolerates less ideal situations<br />
including urban conditions, poor soil, and some summer drought. Fine <strong>as</strong> a small, street tree. Frost hardy to<br />
-20F, <strong>USDA</strong> <strong>zone</strong> 5.<br />

This beautiful denizen <strong>of</strong> the Great B<strong>as</strong>in, from Oregon south and e<strong>as</strong>t pretty much forever, sports silver-gray<br />
leaves <strong>of</strong> less than 1/2" on shrubs no more than 2-3 ft in height growing in rocky outcrops. Spring white<br />
flowers age gracefully to cinnamon colors in autumn. Amazingly drought adapted but just fine under normal<br />
garden conditions. Full sun; be thrifty with the water. Frost hardy in at le<strong>as</strong>t <strong>USDA</strong> <strong>zone</strong> 5, probably <strong>as</strong> low<br />
<strong>as</strong> <strong>zone</strong> 4.<br />

Humulus lupulus ‘Aureus’ golden hops<br />
Bright yellow leaves on this vigorous vine that can reach 20 ft in a se<strong>as</strong>on.. White florwers in mid-summer to<br />
early autumn followed <strong>by</strong> light green hops in autumn. Stems die to the gound in winter and can be trimmed<br />
<strong>of</strong>f completely. Part shade is best to avoid bleaching the leaves. Frost hardy to <strong>USDA</strong> <strong>zone</strong> 5.<br />

Hydrangea anomala ssp. petiolaris ‘Mirranda’ mirranda climbing hydrangea<br />
A Rippinggale <strong>Nursery</strong> (Boring, Ore) selection 10 years ago, this golden margined climbing hydrangea is<br />
happiest on a shaded north wall with adequate water. Slower than the species. White flowers in summer.<br />
Deciduous.<br />
