Pr<strong>of</strong>essor James Nairne<br />
Mr. Akbar is investigating the evolutionary determinants <strong>of</strong><br />
memory in a laboratory setting. He is assisting with the design <strong>of</strong><br />
an experiment and helping to conduct the sessions.<br />
Ms. Padgitt is working with <strong>scholar</strong> Janelle Washburn as an as-<br />
sistant in the <strong>Purdue</strong> Babylabs. Her duties include calling parents,<br />
caring for siblings <strong>of</strong> participants, and learning how infant data<br />
is collected by shadowing graduate students. Ms. Padgitt will also<br />
have the opportunity to assist Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Hollich with data analysis<br />
<strong>of</strong> his project studying the validity <strong>of</strong> a laboratory-based measure<br />
<strong>of</strong> infant vocabulary.<br />
