Department of speeCh, language, anD hearing sCienCes graCe s c o t t Columbus, Indiana Assistant Professor Oliver Wendt Ms. Scott is working with Professor Wendt on a research project investigating the effects of speech-generating devices (SGD) on natural speech development in children with severe autism. Most children with autism are non-speaking and need an alternative means of communication to interact with their social environment. She will visit several clothing stores and observe and document the store layout and design elements. The project will result in a presentation of her observations and conclusions about successful design elements.

She is exploring the ceramic materials and processes used in creating wheel-thrown and handwrought pottery and sculpture.
