The cast of ‘A Dickins of a life’ The Cast Mark Piraveen Lewis Issy Omotola Jordan Alex Paul James Brown John Sancia Back stage David Jeff Ross Gemma Liam Chelsea The ‘Dickens of Life’ project gave the pupils in the Year 10 Entry Level group the opportunity to perform at Wimbledon Theatre. The pupils involved spent several weeks learning about their characters, practicing their scripts and rehearsing. Throughout the whole process all the pupils showed a tremendous amount of professionalism and dedication and this was most certainly reflected in the quality of their final performance. It was a great experience for all involved and the group developed a considerable bond from working so closely together. It is difficult to single out any one performer who excelled as all those involved did so very well! Although, since the performance several of the pupils have been offered the opportunity to join a local youth theatre so they get the chance to show off their skills on the stage on a more regular basis! All in all a fantastic experience for the pupils – Very well done to all the cast!!! Mr Brown 3S / Drama Teacher
It has been a very exciting year for Shed 13. In May we celebrated our 5th year of Room 13 international. We held an artyparty for all of Cricket Green to enjoy Shed 13, Mr O’Brien and the 6th formers catered for the event and made some delicious food for everyone. We also had a disco outside where students enjoyed dancing away. In June we had a very exciting visit to Blach Roch in central London. We had an opportunity to meet other Room 13 studios from the south. We had our own stall selling handmade arts and crafts that the students had made. There was a silent auction where Anisa donated her aboriginal emu painting which sold for £200. We are so proud that we made £290 from the auction The money raised will go towards the materials we use in Shed 13. Cricket Green School held an arts exhibiton at Wimbledon Village Hall last week. We had many visitors and raised over £1000 the arts at Cricket Green School. Our Shed 13 artists also displayed their work in the exhibition. Check out the next newsletter for more information.
