Jetstar has just celebrated its eighth birthday.
Since 2004, we've expanded from five aircraft
operating along the east coast of Australia to almost
90 aircraft flying to around 60 destinations in 16 countries.
Our mission is the same now as when we started — to
help more people to travel more often for less.
From that first flight in 2004 from Avalon Airport on
Melbourne's outskirts, we've welcomed about 85 million
passengers onto a Jetstar flight somewhere in the world.
We've had the pleasure of taking many of them on a
holiday, or an overseas trip or to visit friends and family.
It's fantastic to have been part of so many people's
journeys. And I'm extremely grateful for the support
of our customers and Jetstar team members over the
past eight years, who have helped make Jetstar's own
journey possible.
We know that lower fares mean people can take trips
they otherwise wouldn't or couldn't take.
