1 A Well that's quite possible, Miss Dillon, if you look at any full-time office
2 that I was running and I make the point that was the office that was being
3 there for 20 years now has never been subvented by any state funding, my
4 secretary is in the Dail and the secretaries that's employed in Malahide, the
5 funding in relation to the office and all activity in political life was dealt
6 with on that basis out of my own resources and the resources that people had
7 given to me. And basically that is the type of expenditure of running a
8 full-time office in today's, could be between 20 and 25,000 and at that time I
9 think you would be talking anything between 12 and 15,000 a year.

11 As I say, through the chair, that no -- at that time, right up to two years
12 ago, at that time there was no funding, state funding whatsoever in relation to
13 a political office that an individual would want to run themselves.

15 MR. KENNEDY: just to assist the Tribunal, Chairman, there is contained in the
16 Fianna Fail report and I think it's part of the brief, a typical election
17 campaign cost and constituency office operating costs which show a breakdown of
18 how those costs would have to be made up in that time. And it shows in respect
19 of election campaigns costing 11,400 and constituency office, 12,450.
