What is unusual about the DAUERHOLZ method
is its use of wax preservation. Wax is the
primary component of the solution in which the
wood is saturated – a product with no odour or
taste which is used as a component of candles,
ointments and creams as well as in the
food packaging industry. We do not make any
compromises when it comes to selecting the
wood: our products are exclusively made from
wood which has received a so-called PEFC*
certificate, i.e. proving its origin in sustainable
forest management, whereby we only trade
in indigenous wood which grows fast and is
not endangered, e.g. pine. Our special preservation
method attributes these ecologicallycompatible
types of wood the features which
make them a real alternative to tropical wood.
Furthermore, we offer a convincing alternative
to the popular modified woods and wooden
materials currently available for use in outdoor
applications.
