12noon John Maytham interviews Isobel Dixon, London based literary agent<br />

about her poetry anthology a Fold in <strong>the</strong> Map.<br />

14h00 Riaan Manser – enthusiastic author of Round Africa on my Bicycle will<br />

be discussing his fascinating journey around Africa, and you’ll get to<br />

see <strong>the</strong> bicycle!<br />

15h00 Max du Preez – controversial journalist, author and founder of <strong>the</strong> fi rst<br />

anti-government newspaper Vrye Weekblad, will discuss his work and<br />

what still motivates him.<br />

which gives an authoritative insight into <strong>the</strong> inner workings of <strong>the</strong><br />

ANC. He will be joined by Xolela Mangcu, incisive social columnist,<br />

intellectual and author, whose new book To The Brink has just<br />

been launched.<br />

16h00 The secrets of women writers’ ANGELINA SITHEBE - Holy Hill, JOANNE<br />

JOWELL - The O<strong>the</strong>r Side of Shame and RACHELLE GREEF - Everything<br />

but <strong>the</strong> Secret of my Whisky.<br />

Monday<br />

13h00 Mark Gevisser, <strong>the</strong> man who has given us Thabo Mbeki – The Dream<br />

Deferred, will no doubt have many anecdotes and answers to your<br />

questions about our president, and <strong>the</strong> time he spent with him whilst<br />

writing <strong>the</strong> book.<br />

14h00 Herman Giliomee, well known author of The Afrikaners will be here to<br />

discuss his work and answer any questions you may have about South<br />

African history and in particular <strong>the</strong> role of <strong>the</strong> Afrikaans people.<br />

16h00 The interesting and articulate Susan Mann and Sarah Lotz will be talk<br />

about women in writing, <strong>the</strong>ir infl uences and motivation and also to<br />

discuss <strong>the</strong>ir own work.<br />
