Customers may request discontinuance of a program at any time during the
Annual Reporting (AR) period. When the customer requests discontinuance:
Verbally – 10-day notice must be provided prior to the discontinuance.
In writing:
- Adequate notice is provided, and
- Discontinuance will be completed at the end of the month in which the
request was made.
County initiated actions may occur at any time during the
Re-evaluation/Recertification (RE/RC) period. County initiated changes in
eligibility status must be acted on at the end of the month in which timely and
adequate notice can be provided. County-initiated actions include, but are not
limited to, the following:
Child is/becomes ineligible due to age,
Sanction or penalty is imposed or removed,
Child is placed in Foster Care (FC),
Aid is approved for a child or individual who is currently being aided in
another Assistance Unit (AU),
AU is no longer a California resident,
Person becomes incarcerated,
Overpayment/Overissuance (OP/OI) occur,
Customer failed to cooperate with Income Eligibility and Verification
System (IEVS) requirements,
AU member is deceased,
Young adult transferred into his/her own AU,
State hearing decision results in a mandatory change, and
Changes known to the agency (e.g. PVS 40, New Hire, etc.).
