Provide an anticorrosion specification extended chain
life improved tensile strength
Some machines or installations use roller or leaf chains which have to
operate in corrosive environments. Operating in such conditions can result
in a deterioration in the performance of standard chains.
In order to increase life in corrosive environments SEDIS has developed
the Z (Delta-Z) anti-corrosion specification.
To overcome this regular problem, sedis uses an anti-corrosion treatment
which gives a protection of several hundred hours in a salt-spray environment
without oxidation (rust) and to increase the chains performance.
Treatment
The D-Z (Delta Z) anti-corrosion treated chains have the advantages of
D chains, that is to say a longer life durability in severe environments
and a high tensile strength.
Application
The niche for these chains is in applications where standard chains are
unsuitable because of the corrosive environment, or where the load
applied to the chain makes stainless steel unsuitable. (it cannot replace
stainless steel where the chain is in direct contact with food).
Please consult the SEDIS technical department for applicational suitability.
The excellent corrosive resistance of Z chains (for PH 5 to 9 inclusive)
allows operation in aggressive corrosive atmospheres.
D Z chains are particularly resistant to:
> organic solvents
> hydraulic fluids
> various sprays
> water projections
> marine and industrial atmospheres
