Recommendations regarding Eculizumab (Soliris) and anticoagulation When considering whether Eculizumab or Anticoagulation is more appropriate for preventing clots, consider that the risk of bleeding on anticoagulation (about 1% per year) is similar to the risk of meningococcal infection in patients on Soliris. However, for individual patients, one may be of greater concern than the other.
