WILMSLOW RUNNING CLUB
With the Half Marathon now just two weeks away, Running Club chairman,
Nick Bishop writes about their continuing success and prospects for club
members in the race.
With a still growing membership of over 100, we continue to dominate many of the running events in which they compete.
In the summer we retained both men’s and ladies “Cheshire Road Running” championships while in the winter , the men
won the Cheshire Cross Country Championships .
During the winter , the club competes in the Manchester Area Cross Country League run over five races and includes the
20 clubs in the Manchester and Cheshire Area. The ladies won both Senior Ladies and Vets Ladies championships
with the men winning the Vets championship and finished third in the Senior Men. The winter season finished with
both teams running in the National Cross Country Championships, the blue ribbon event of club cross country running.
This year the club also provided two further runners to the English Vets international team.
watch from the Marathon team.
