The <strong>port</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Duisburg</strong> is <strong>the</strong> largest river harbour <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> world, located in Europe and among <strong>the</strong> top 100<br />
container <strong>port</strong>s <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world. The complete harbour<br />
area has a total area <strong>of</strong> 13 km², and extends from<br />
<strong>the</strong> wet docks at <strong>the</strong> Ruhr mouth along <strong>the</strong> Rhine<br />
River up to <strong>Duisburg</strong>-Rheinhausen.<br />

handling systems is essential <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
expansion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> combined trans<strong>port</strong> capabilities<br />

First in April 2006, a Kuenz RMG Crane was put<br />
into operation at <strong>the</strong> DIT terminal located in <strong>the</strong><br />
logistic centre „log<strong>port</strong>“. The RMG intermodal<br />
crane system is a substantial improvement <strong>for</strong><br />
fast-growing rail container traffic. The crane is<br />
designed as a double-girder container gantry<br />
crane with superstructure and has impressive<br />
operating per<strong>for</strong>mance.<br />

Then in March 2007 Kuenz delivered ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />
crane with a similar design <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> PKV terminal,<br />
operated by DUSS. The crane is equipped with a<br />
Kuenz spreader which was especially made <strong>for</strong><br />
interchangeable truck bodies and designed according<br />
to <strong>the</strong> building codes and standards <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Deutsche Bahn AG (German Federal Railway).<br />
