Requirements for Radioprotectors
Should be selective in protecting normal tissues
from radiotherapy without protecting tumor
tissue.
Should be delivered with minimal toxicity.
Should protect normal tissues that are
considered sensitive such that acute or late
toxicities in these tissues are either dose-limiting
or responsible for a significant reduction in
quality of life
