Mr. Entwistle’s total compensation for 2011 increased by<br />

$250,596 or 2.5 per cent over 2010, while Shareholders benefitted<br />

from a 32 per cent total return for the year. The 2.5 per cent<br />

increase in total compensation resulted substantially from the<br />

factors noted above relating to the change in Mr. Entwistle’s<br />

total direct compensation, as well as an increase in pension<br />

value by $573,000 in 2011. Over the period of 12 years, under<br />

the leadership of Mr. Entwistle, <strong>TELUS</strong> holds the top position<br />

globally on the MSCI World Telecom Index for incumbent<br />

telecommunications companies with a total return of 152 per<br />

cent (including reinvested dividends).<br />

the NEOs’ total compensation increased 4.7 per cent this<br />

year, well below the total shareholder return of approximately<br />
