ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR 2009* Registration - Add/Drop Period (Includes Weekends - see page 24 for more information) 4 Fall 2009 | SCHEDULE OF CLASSES ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR Fall 2009 Use this caledar to plan for the upcoming term and meet important deadlines. We recommend that you register early to avoid late fees and closed classes. April 1st - August 19th No Registration Period - Payment Processing July 29th Late Registration (Late fees apply) August 20th - 27th Classes Begin August 24th. Labor Day (University Closed) September 7th. Census Day - Last Day to Drop without W September 9th. Pass/Fail Grade Option Selection Deadline September 18th. Graduation Application Deadline for Degree Conferral (Fee $30, after this date charge is $45) October 2nd. Freshman Midterm Grades Due to Registration & Records Offi ce October 14th. Freshman Midterm Grades e-mailed to Freshman Students via UTEP e-mail October 19th. Course Drop Deadline October 30th. Deadline to submit candidate names for Commencement (Names will appear in program) November 13th. Thanksgiving Holiday (University Closed) November 26th - 27th. Last Day of Classes and Last Day to Completely Withdraw from all courses December 3rd. Dead Day/No Exam Period December 4th. Final Exams December 7th - 11th. Last Day to Accept Graduation Applications (Names Will Not Appear in Program) December 11th. Fall Commencement December 12th. Final Grades Due to the Records Offi ce December 16th. Deadline for Graduate Degree Candidates for submission of Electronic Thesis or Dissertation and for Graduate Degree Final exams to the Graduate School December 18th. Final Grades Available (via my.utep.edu, touch-tone and UTEP e-mail) December 21st. Alternate Parts of Term Important Dates and Deadlines Part of Term Information PART OF TERM CALENDAR Alternate Parts of Terms are created for courses that do not meet according to the traditional long term dates. Important dates and deadlines vary based on the length of the alternate part of term. The table below details dates associated with each term based on those created by publication date. Part of Term Payment Deadline Notice Please note that the tuition and fee deadline is the published Census day for any alternate part of term that begins prior to August 24th.
