<strong>SCSI</strong>Term<br />
This option configures the <strong>SCSI</strong> active termination, when fitted, on or off.<br />
Eg: *Configure <strong>SCSI</strong>Term on(off ) <br />
Note: All the above Configuration settings will be set only after performing a .<br />
Current settings can be discovered by pressing the key Fl 2 and typing *S tatus<br />
4.4 Formatting and Partitioning devices manually<br />
4.4.1 Formatting Devices<br />
Before a <strong>SCSI</strong> hard drive can be used on an Acorn computer it has to be formatted (all hard drives<br />
supplied by <strong>Castle</strong> Technology are pre-formatted). This can be achieved using <strong>SCSI</strong>DForm (supplied<br />
on the <strong>SCSI</strong> Utilities disc).<br />
I. Insert the <strong>SCSI</strong> utilities disc into the computer's floppy drive and click the Select button over the<br />
floppy drive Icon.<br />
2. locate <strong>SCSI</strong>DForm and click twice with Select over it.<br />
3. The program is now running - follow the steps one by one.<br />
4. When the program has finished remove the <strong>SCSI</strong> Utilities disc and use your new hard drive.<br />
4.4.2 Partitioning devices<br />
<strong>SCSI</strong>DForm allows the Hard drive to be partitioned with up to 8 partitions. Having run <strong>SCSI</strong>DForm<br />
you will be prompted with the following:<br />
Note: Partitioning the hard drive may cause data on other partitions to be deleted. Proceed with<br />
caution.<br />
Partitions found on the disc<br />
Number Size<br />
0 120.43<br />
S - split partition 0<br />
K - kill partition 0<br />
Z - finished<br />
To add a partition to the hard drive type<br />

Then type in the new partition size eg:<br />
40 <br />
This can be repeated up to 8 times or until there is now space remaining to be allocated to partitions.<br />
4.5 <strong>SCSI</strong> from the desktop<br />
Once the configuration and formatting have been completed a <strong>SCSI</strong> Icon will appear on the Icon bar.<br />
Each Icon will represent a hard drive or partition of a hard drive. Clicking on any of the Icons will<br />
bring up the Directory viewer for that drive. Files, directories and applications can be used, copied,<br />
deleted etc in the normal way.<br />
