There's nothing to change on the Options page, so we're done. Click OK <strong>and</strong> the<br />

differential backup will be performed.<br />

Figure 7-4 summarizes the storage requirements <strong>and</strong> execution time metrics for our first<br />

differential backup. The execution time was obtained by scripting out the equivalent<br />

BACKUP comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> running the T-<strong>SQL</strong>, as described in Chapter 3. The alternative<br />

method, querying the backupset table in msdb (see Listing 3-5), does not provide<br />

sufficient granularity for a backup that ran in under a second.<br />
