Tessa Balsick
Assistant Coach
2nd Season
Tessa Balsick begins her second season with the Golden Eagles as
the women’s assistant basketball coach.
Balsick completed her master’s degree in physical education from
Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. While there, she served
as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team. In those two
years (2007-2009), ESU women’s basketball compiled a 49-14 record
with two conference championships and two national tournament
appearances, including a Sweet 16 performance in 2008 at the NCAA
Division II level.
“Tessa is a huge asset to the women’s basketball program at the
College of Southern Idaho,” said head coach Randy Rogers. “She has
a lot of energy, excitement and coaching experience. We are thrilled we
have her.”
A native of Monument, Colo., Balsick was a state high school all-star at Lewis Palmer High School. She
played one year of basketball at Metro State in Denver before finishing her bachelor’s degree at Colorado State
University.
After graduating from CSU, Balsick coached
at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock,
Colo. and worked closely with the women’s
basketball program at the United States Air Force
Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
