5-10 Guard/Forward Freshman Por tland, Ore. #14 This or That Stay In or Go Out Talk or Listen Laugh Out Loud or Giggle Tent or Cabin Long Hair or Shor t Hair Love to Win or Hate to Lose Play to Win or Play to have Fun Dogs or Cats Leader or Follower Mild or Spicy Social Butterfly or Wallflower Casual or Dress Up Morning or Night Taylor Altenburg “Taylor is our most versatile player. She can shoot the three as well as play inside at the 4/5 position. She brings Division I experience that allows her to help with the development of the younger players. Look for Taylor to play a lot of minutes for us this season.” Coach Rogers Before CSI: Taylor transfers to CSI from New Mexico State University where she played her freshman season. Prior to attending New Mexico State, Taylor graduated from Elko High School. She was a 3-spor t athlete, competing in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She holds the scoring and rebounding record at her high school and earned first team all-league and first team all-region honors as well as MVP of Elko County. Up Close with Taylor If I could star t my own restaurant, it would be: a sushi restaurant named “365”, because it would always be open. Favorite Food: Sushi Funniest Movie: Step Brothers My favorite toy as a child was: Barbie. Favorite Donut: Chocolate Favorite Sit-Down Restaurant: PF Changs Favorite Board Game: Uno Kylee Schierman “After missing most all of the preseason, Kylee is star ting to develop both offensively and defensively. Expect Kylee to have a big impact this season as she gets more time on the cour t.” Coach Rogers Before CSI: A two-spor t athlete at Central Catholic High School, Kylee led her teams to conference championships every year in volleyball and basketball. As a sophomore and junior, Kylee was a par t of her high school team that placed third in the state in basketball. She was named first team all league as a junior and senior and earned MVP honors as a senior. Up Close with Kylee If I could star t my own restaurant, it would be: a hamburger restaurant. Favorite Holiday: Christmas My most prized possession is: my ipod. Hidden Talent: I am an amazing dancer. During my off season, I hope to improve: my shooting and ball handling. She is solid on defense and can knock down the 3-point shot.” Coach Rogers Before CSI: Mechela played basketball and ran cross country at Bellarmine Prep High School. She helped her team to league championships all four years of basketball, as well as an eighth-place finish at state her sophomore year and a four thplace finish at state her senior season. She earned first team all league honors three years and was named the Queens of the Hardwood MVP in 2009. Up Close with Mechela I am not good at: bowling. Favorite Twin Falls Hangout: The Taylor Building Hanging on my bedroom wall is : family pictures. My favorite motivational saying is: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Interesting Fact: I have never eaten chocolate, and have not had a pop since third grade. Favorite Playground Equipment: Monkey Bars “Kyler is our most mature player. She may be the best shooter we’ve had at CSI in the past nine years. She is very good on the break and can finish shots around the basket. Defensively, she is very good.” Coach Rogers 17 Kyler Parai Before CSI: Kyler played basketball, volleyball and net ball in high school in New Zealand. Her sister played for Salt Lake CC the year that CSI played in the NJCAA National Championship game. Up Close with Kyler The thing that is most impor tant to me right now is: basketball. Favorite Book: Breaking Dawn A one-word description of myself is: mellow. I can’t stand the smell of: feet. Hanging on my wall I have: pictures of my closests friends and family. One of my favorite hobbies is: snowboarding.
