5-9 - Guard - Sophomore Preston, Idaho - #21 Holly Checketts “Holly is a sophomore that the coaching staff feels can step in and give us good minutes. She is an improved shooter from the perimeter and someone who we can count on to give us great effor t on the defensive end..” Coach Rogers At CSI: Holly played in 20 games for the Golden Eagles as a freshman. She scored a season-high nine points and five rebounds against Snow College. Before CSI: A three-spor t athlete at Preston High School, Holly lettered in soccer four years, basketball two years and softball two years. She earned All-Valley honors in soccer and softball. In her two years on the varsity basketball team, Holly was named Player of the Week twice, earned 5th District Player of the Year, was named to the All-Valley team and earned 4A second team all-state honors. Up Close with Holly I wouldn’t be caught dead: dancing in public. Favorite Food: Cereal One word to describe Golden Eagle Basketball is: intense. My favorite board game: Monopoly When I was growing up I wanted to be: a school teacher. Now, I want to be: a graphic designer. Favorite Fruit: Peaches Twin Falls is different from where I am from because: it is bigger and there are no mountains. 5-10 - Guard/Forward - Sophomore Salt Lake City, Utah - #22 Tina Fakahafua “Tina is our most tenacious player. She plays with a lot of passion. She plays much bigger than her height. Tina will step in this year with more minutes. Look for her to be a double-double player this year..” Coach Rogers At CSI: Tina played in 24 games as a freshman, scoring a season-high 10 points against Central Arizona. She had five rebounds in five different games. Before CSI: A three-year letterman at Judge Memorial High School, Tina led her team to region championships in 2007, 2008 and 2009 as well as a four th-place finish at state in 2008. Tina earned all-state accolades as a sophomore, junior and senior. In 2009, she was named 3A MVP of her league and was a McDonald’s All- American nominee.
