High students will contribute to the production<br />

of this year’s musical.<br />

FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW<br />

TO ENJOY THE SHOW<br />

e musical has been described as follows:<br />

is world is populated by a motley<br />

crew of eccentrics, non-conformists, Salvation<br />

Army do-gooders, or just plain irresponsibles:<br />

gamblers, night-club<br />

entertainers, <strong>and</strong> various categories of<br />

"jerks". It is this world, <strong>and</strong> these people,<br />

that are found in Guys <strong>and</strong> Dolls, a musical<br />

comedy originally described in the<br />

programme as a "fable of Broadway"<br />

More than 100 <strong>Caldwell</strong> High students<br />

have contributed to this production.<br />

Kids are not only singing <strong>and</strong><br />

dancing, but also are building <strong>and</strong> painting<br />

sets, sewing costumes <strong>and</strong> orchestrating<br />

the technical elements.<br />

Students make all the music, too.<br />

CHS b<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> orchestra will play.<br />

is is music teacher David Burton’s<br />

first role as producer. Burton is a firstyear<br />

in <strong>Caldwell</strong>. at’s why he got help<br />

from professionals — adult acting<br />

coaches <strong>and</strong> choreographers have<br />

stopped by rehearsal.<br />

Some of <strong>Caldwell</strong> High’s best <strong>and</strong><br />

brightest students are members of the<br />

He’d love to<br />

attend college at the<br />

University of Idaho<br />

or Northwest Nazarene College <strong>and</strong><br />

major in theology. He wants to be a<br />

minister.<br />

Traveling to Asia would be the trip<br />

of a lifetime for Chris.<br />

Chris said he’s most proud of<br />

“learning to be myself.”<br />

He owns dogs named Nate, Zoe<br />

<strong>and</strong> Chester e Molester <strong>and</strong> spends<br />

his free time playing frisbee golf or<br />

poker. Dad’s a chiropractor <strong>and</strong> mom<br />

works at the police department.<br />

MEGAN AUGUSTUS<br />

Megan’s a talker<br />

who loves to sing.<br />

Her favorite color is<br />

blue, she loves most<br />

foreign foods <strong>and</strong><br />

her favorite childhood<br />

memory is a<br />

two-month trip to<br />

Canada with her gr<strong>and</strong>parents. Megan<br />

lives with four siblings <strong>and</strong> more than<br />

200 animals, including horses, cows,<br />

pigs <strong>and</strong> too many dogs to count.<br />

Her father is a doctor in <strong>Caldwell</strong><br />

but they live on a family farm.<br />

Megan wants to be an ambassador<br />

to Spain when she grows up. e junior<br />

hasn’t decided where she wants to go to<br />

college but she knows she will <strong>and</strong> she<br />

wants to major in international<br />

relations <strong>and</strong> minor in Spanish.<br />

e only thing Megan doesn’t like is<br />

the dark.<br />

REBECCA SUMMERS<br />

— it’s her middle<br />

name, which means<br />

snow or happiness<br />

in Japanese.<br />

Yuki loves anything<br />

bright <strong>and</strong> lots<br />

of different books <strong>and</strong> movies.<br />

She wants to travel the world <strong>and</strong><br />

not miss stopping in Greece. She loves<br />

to sing <strong>and</strong> dance <strong>and</strong> loves watching<br />

musicals.<br />

She owns a nearly perfect GPA <strong>and</strong><br />

plans to attend Seattle Pacific University<br />

to become a marine biologist.<br />

Yuki’s mom was born <strong>and</strong> raised in<br />

Japan <strong>and</strong> came to the United States to<br />

go to school. Her dad works with<br />

elevators.<br />

VIRGINIA MIKESELL<br />

Virginia wants to go to college but<br />

her dream is to be a stay-at-home mom<br />

<strong>and</strong> care for at least three children.<br />

She loves studying nutrition <strong>and</strong><br />

making desserts.<br />

Most people don’t know that<br />

Virginia has a hat collection that is<br />

displayed on her bedroom wall from<br />

the ceiling to the floor.<br />

She has a brother <strong>and</strong> three sisters,<br />

two dogs named Bowtie <strong>and</strong> C<strong>and</strong>y<br />

<strong>and</strong> a bunny named Oreo.<br />

JORDAN OZUNA<br />

Jordan stays as<br />

busy as a high<br />

school senior possibly<br />

could, serving as<br />

the student body<br />

president <strong>and</strong><br />

maintaining a<br />

perfect GPA.<br />

She has sophisticated taste — she<br />

loves the Twilight Series, Plato’s Republic,<br />

her political philosophy class <strong>and</strong><br />

movies like “Across the Universe” <strong>and</strong><br />

“Beauty <strong>and</strong> the Beast.”<br />

If she could do anything it would be<br />

to relax <strong>and</strong> read, if she could go any<br />

where it would be London <strong>and</strong> if she<br />

could buy anything it would be a ring.<br />

She’s most proud of l<strong>and</strong>ing lead<br />

roles in musicals over the years <strong>and</strong><br />

she’s also very proud of her family.<br />

CALEB TRACEY<br />

difficult only because<br />

he must cut<br />

his hair to play the<br />

role of Nathan.<br />

Caleb loves the book “Lord of the<br />

Flies,’’ <strong>and</strong> the color green. He’s a major<br />

fan of movies. He watches movies all<br />

the time <strong>and</strong> owns a big collection.<br />

When forced to pick a favorite, he’ll say<br />

“Gladiator.’’<br />

He wants to visit a town in Ethiopia<br />

that has 10 churches. His favorite<br />

classes are AP chemistry <strong>and</strong> political<br />

philosophy — it’s no coincidence that<br />

these are taught by his favorite teachers.<br />

is senior wants to grow up <strong>and</strong> be<br />

a psychologist who helps people<br />

(maybe teens) conquer addictions <strong>and</strong><br />

survive abuse.
