Caldwell’s
Best &
Brightest
Daniel Snow does a lot of things really
well because he works really hard. He’s
one of the brightest and most accomplished
seniors in this year’s class, he’s giving the
commencement speech and he has lofty goals for
his future. He’s the kind of kid that every parent
would appreciate.
Check out this resume:
> He has a 4.4 grade point average and will finish
high school with close to 14 college credits.
> He was a unanimous selection to give the graduation
speech by a group of teachers and his peers.
> He was awarded a National Merit School letter
of accommodation.
> He earned a full-ride merit scholarship to
Brigham Young University.
> He played varsity football and has a long list of
orchestra accomplishments, including All-State, All-
Northwest and state solo finalist with the viola.
Daniel expects there to be more accomplishments
as he begins the next stage of his life. He’ll
go on a two-year mormon mission in the fall and
then to BYU where he wants to major in mechanical
engineering and continue performing his viola. He
hopes to get a doctorate of science at MIT and
some day develop renewable-energy sourced transportation.
Daniel grew up in Caldwell and is proud to be a
graduate of Caldwell schools. His four siblings also
graduated from Caldwell and his father is a local surgeon.
What are you most proud of ?
I have applied myself in all of my activities.
What do you do for fun?
I like to spend time with my friends and go
to movies. My favorite movie is “Man on Fire.”
What is your favorite high school memory?
Football camp at Idaho State.
What is your favorite book? I have my
own library in my room and I read about a
book a week. I liked “Blink.”
Dream vacation and why? Cambodia. My
brother served a mission there and we returned
together and it was amazing. I want to go
again.
What can you not live without? Music.
Do you have a motto or favorite saying?
“Rise and rise again until lambs become lions,”
from the first Robin Hood publication.
