This is a quarter long campaign that explores the unique<br />
sociological, historical, political, demographic, and cultural issues<br />
that make up today’s diverse Asian/Asian American communities.<br />
This program will photograph Asian students at CSULA and raise<br />
awareness on the diverse ethnic identities that are lumped in the<br />

brings to life the extraordinary and valuable<br />

by Dr. Emily Hobson, UC Santa Barbara<br />

EXPLORING LATINO DIVERSITY<br />

Mexicans, Salvadorians, Cubans, Dominicans…… Are they all the<br />
same? Do they share similarities or differences? What and who<br />
is considered Latino? This panel, presented by the Chicana/o<br />
Latina/o <strong>Student</strong> Resource Center, explores the many shades of<br />
brown that compose the Latino community, and examines how<br />
Latinos are represented, portrayed in the culture at large, and<br />
their complexity beyond cultural stereotypes.<br />
