that will be included in the contract. As discussed<br />
in Section 1 of this proposal, Mr. Charles Field will<br />
be the responsible quality control officer for the<br />
construction of the Lafayette Street Sidewalk and<br />
Roadway Improvements Project. Mr. Field is well<br />
qualified for this essential role of the construction<br />
team and will be responsible to overseeing the implementation<br />
of the Quality Control (QC) Plan. The<br />
need for a comprehensive, dynamic QC Plan is recognized<br />
as an integral part of <strong>Sandco</strong>’s corporate<br />
construction business activities. They understand<br />
that it provides a road map to provide quality services<br />
and that in order to survive in today’s business<br />
climate the emphasis on quality and client satisfaction<br />
in every aspect is required. <strong>Sandco</strong> follows<br />
standards enforced by the Florida Department of<br />
Transportation, and has lengthy documents detailing<br />
the quality control process for various construction<br />
activities. Some key points of the Sanco<br />
quality control plan follow.<br />
The elements of the Company’s QC plan are reviewed<br />
quarterly by the QC manager and company<br />
personnel to incorporate any new Company<br />
changes and any governmental processes or specification<br />
changes.<br />
An alternate quality control officer will be available<br />
if required. Mr. Nick Hall is this projects alternate<br />
quality control officer.<br />

All inspector that are assigned to this project will<br />
be FDOT qualified as appropriate for their assignments.<br />
Current qualification status will be verified<br />
by Mr. Filed or his designee prior to inspector assignment<br />
duties.<br />
Responsibilities of the QC manager include overseeing<br />
QC staff on this project. This includes producers<br />
supplying material to the project. the<br />
oversight will usually take the form of audits on<br />
a periodic basis as need to verify that Producers<br />
have and are following their own QC plans. This<br />
oversight shall not relive the Producer in any way<br />
of responsibilities under their own QC plan. The QC<br />
manager shall also ensure that all QC staff have a<br />
copy oft the project QC plan. The QC manager will<br />
make sure that all forms are completed using ink<br />
when practical and are available to the <strong>County</strong><br />
upon request. He will also ensure that applicable<br />
QC test results and other information are entered<br />
into the database in a timely manner.<br />
As previously mentioned <strong>Sandco</strong>’s construction QC<br />
Plan is very detailed and cites standards and methodologies<br />
for each aspect of construction being<br />
performed. As example, the following is a portion<br />
of <strong>Sandco</strong>’s FDOT approved Quality Control Plan.
