Cranford Police Department Traffic Division
A central parking system server allows us to
monitor payment, violations, and status at
all pay stations. All pay stations connect via
a cellular connection to the server and
report use as well as any malfunctions as
they happen. Parking enforcement
personnel carry a smart-phone with web
access that reports real time use of the lots.
A quick glance at the phone displays expired
meters as well as meter malfunctions.
Members of the Traffic Division are on call
on a rotating basis in order to provide 24
hour a day, 365 days a year coverage in the
event of a serious or fatal motor vehicle
accident. Each Detective is on call for two
weeks at a time with the Lieutenant
providing coverage as needed.
