2008 initiative - Life - Charles Sturt University

To expand scholarship and research on education for practice collaborative partnerships with CSU and external
colleagues have been set up to produce a series of key texts within a book series with Sense Publishers around
the theme of Practice, Education, Work and Society. Professor Joy Higgs is the series editor. A key publication
in preparation is Education for Future Practice. The editors of this book are Professor Joy Higgs (EFPI Director),
Professor Della Fish (Adjunct Professor and Global Alliance partner), Professor Ian Goulter (Vice‐Chancellor,
CSU), Professor Jo‐Anne Reid (RIPPLE Key Researcher, Professor, Faculty of Education) and Dr Stephen Loftus
PAPERS AND CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS
Papers and presentations serve to disseminate findings of research and scholarship on EFP and foster research
and scholarship by staff and students. The staff and students associated with EFPI staff have produced 6
journal papers and 59 conference presentations in 2008.

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS BY EFPI STAFF AND STUDENTS
EFPI staff and students participated in a range of conferences hosted by national and international education
and practice organisations.
Conferences provide opportunities for staff, schools and the University to:
• showcase the work of EFPI and advances in practice‐based education.
• advance the scholarship and discourse of education for practice
• enhance the reputation of CSU as a centre for excellence in practice‐based education.
• share practice‐based and research‐based knowledge and practices across CSU
