In this season of giving, we are pleased to announce that <strong>Max</strong> Associates donated $8,000 at Convention<br />

to Amigos of Honduras and more money since then. We have a report in the newsletter about the work of<br />

this philanthropic organization that is helping fight poverty in Honduras. We also have an update on the<br />

ongoing project for <strong>Max</strong> employees at a school for homeless children in Salt Lake City. <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong><br />

and <strong>Max</strong> Associates are caring people!<br />

A Note from Dr. Keller<br />

To all the Associates in the <strong>Max</strong> Family,<br />

I am thrilled at being given the opportunity to write to each and every one of<br />

you to bring you up to date. As I have said on many of the Saturday conference<br />

calls, <strong>Max</strong>GXL ® is the message but you are the messengers who are bringing it<br />

to the US and Canada now, and as time goes on, hopefully to the world.<br />

As you know, I believe truly that I was put on earth to help people. To that end,<br />

I have spent almost twenty years researching, studying and testing PBS, a drug<br />

to treat HIV and neurodegenerative diseases. Despite my best efforts, however,<br />

we have yet to be allowed to do the trial that will bring the drug to those in need.<br />

Ten years ago, learning from my patients, I began another quest to improve the quality of life of those<br />

suffering from severe, chronic diseases. After countless tries, the result was <strong>Max</strong>GXL. Edison has been<br />

quoted as saying that genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. I believe truly that the<br />

inspiration was divine intervention but I can say honestly that the perspiration was mine and a group of<br />

fantastic people I have had the good fortune to work with. In any case, <strong>Max</strong>GXL was born and the lives it<br />

has changed have convinced me the quest was inspired by God.<br />

As such, we/collectively, are on a crusade to bring <strong>Max</strong>GXL to everyone in the world. Your fantastic efforts<br />

and the explosive growth of the company are proof of your success.<br />

As many of you know, I was unable to attend the Imagine Convention this year. To say the least, I was very<br />

disappointed. Life, however, has a unique way of throwing curve balls and I must admit I didn’t see this one<br />

coming. I believe it is God’s way of telling me to slow down but whatever the meaning, a problem I picked<br />

up in Tanzania while attempting to get the PBS trials started and a poisonous dose of black mold from a<br />

construction project down the street from my home overwhelmed me and was abetted by my refusal to<br />

slow down.<br />

I am happy to report that I am now on the mend. I must tell you, however, that this would not have been<br />

possible without the nutritional support from <strong>Max</strong>GXL and <strong>Max</strong> N-Fuze.<br />

This experience reinforces even further my true belief that <strong>Max</strong>GXL and <strong>Max</strong> N-Fuze should be taken by<br />

everyone in the world we live in. For that reason, I again offer my humble and heartfelt thanks for your<br />

tireless efforts to achieve this goal. We are in the right place at the right time with the right products. We<br />

Elementary School!<br />

For those of you who weren’t able to join us at<br />

Convention last September, we shared a slide<br />

presentation about a <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> service project<br />

at an elementary school in Salt Lake City.<br />

Washington Elementary caters to some very special<br />

children. They are bright and lovable but they have<br />

a pretty significant challenge in their lives: they are<br />

homeless.<br />

<strong>Max</strong> owners, executives and employees spent part<br />

of their day at the school weeding and cleaning a<br />

neglected area of the school. Money was collected to<br />

purchase shoes for the kids. At Convention, many of<br />

you donated children’s books for these special kids.<br />

Our goal was to ensure each child owned his or her<br />

own book.<br />

It is pretty touching that the children were so taken<br />

with their bright red <strong>Max</strong> water bottles and <strong>Max</strong> pins,<br />

not to mention new gardening gloves. Of course, they<br />

totally loved the pizza and doughnuts. We wanted to<br />

share their cute messages of thanks.<br />

Talon sure liked the pizza and doughnuts. He drew<br />

a lip-smacking face to illustrate how good the food<br />

tasted. Katie drew a picture of the hill in back of the<br />

school, before and after. She also hinted that some of<br />

the weeds are coming back and wrote: “can’t wait till<br />

U help us.”<br />

Roman thought it was fun to pull weeds but even<br />

more fun to see all the many bugs! He invited us to<br />

“Please come agin.”<br />

a Rousing Success!<br />

A hearty “thank you” to all those who took part in the Regional events<br />

during the four weekends in November! The meetings were a tremendous<br />

success. We joined with you<br />

and top Associate leaders to<br />

meet in 24 cities across Canada<br />

and the United States.<br />

Our goal as a company was<br />

to meet with <strong>Max</strong> field leaders<br />

and Associates to get to know<br />

you better and to share information with you about <strong>Max</strong> N-Fuze and<br />

its support to <strong>Max</strong>GXL ® . We were excited to share innovative ways to<br />

increase recruiting using the Success From Home magazine.<br />

A vital part of these meetings was the outstanding training provided by<br />

<strong>Max</strong> Announces Two New Advisory<br />

Council Members<br />

Dr. Kershenstein Brings Medical Expertise and Business Savvy to Council<br />

Dr. TIMOTHY KERSHENSTEIN<br />

Advisory Council Member<br />

Dr. Timothy Kershenstein wears a lot of hats both in his medical profession<br />

and as an Associate with <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>. He has been a member of<br />

<strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>’s Health Care Advisory Board since September, and has<br />

now been asked to serve as a member of the Advisory Council.<br />

Dr. Kershenstein specializes in topical medicine and nutrition and has<br />

advanced degrees from international schools of medicine, including<br />

schools in Bangladesh and the West Indies. He is also a very successful<br />

businessman with many years of experience. His background is perfectly<br />

suited for his important roles at <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>. He believes strongly in<br />

the Eastern philosophy of medicine. He said that their philosophy is trying<br />

to find the cause not merely treating symptoms. He has built his own<br />

philosophy of preventative medicine around this model. <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong><br />

fits nicely into it with products that promote ongoing, preventative health<br />

measures. He feels one of the greatest things he can accomplish as a member of the council is to provide<br />

solid communication between the field and the corporate office and lend insight into what is needed to<br />

make the field function as effectively as it can.<br />

Dr. Kershenstein is the perfect candidate for the position as an accomplished Associate (he recently advanced<br />

to Diamond) and an experienced businessman in addition to his medical practice. He believes strongly in<br />

<strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> in terms of management, products and compensation plan. He has had experience in<br />

network marketing and knows that these elements all need to be in place to form a solid company.<br />

Dr. Kershenstein said that Founders Greg Fullerton, Fred Ninow and Steve Scott, and their partnership with<br />

Guthy-Renker, provide solid backing and business acumen that is rare in any type of business. With this<br />

kind of foundational strength, <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> is set to grow and expand for years to come.<br />

Secondly, the product is the real issue. A powerful product like <strong>Max</strong>GXL ® , which is unlike anything out<br />

there, is something you can build a business on. Dr. Kershenstein feels that Dr. Keller should receive the<br />

Nobel Prize for Medicine because of the tremendous impact of <strong>Max</strong>GXL, his ongoing AIDS research in<br />

Tanzania and his focus on improving the health and quality of life of people throughout the world. He feels<br />

that <strong>Max</strong>’s trio of products, <strong>Max</strong>GXL, the <strong>Max</strong> Weightloss Accelerator System and <strong>Max</strong> N-Fuse combine to<br />

give the body exactly what it needs in terms of maintenance and long-term health.<br />

Finally, a company needs a simple and fair compensation plan. <strong>Max</strong> has one of the best in the business that<br />

rewards with success anyone willing to do the work required. It is built on a philosophy of duplication and<br />

follows a set of simple guidelines that make use of effective tools provided by the company. This system<br />

Jim Marshall: Bringing the pieces together in a company that has it all<br />

Advisory Council Member<br />

Jim Marshall is very pleased to have been asked to serve on <strong>Max</strong><br />

<strong>International</strong>’s Advisory Council.<br />

“I’m honored to represent the Associates in the field and feel that positive<br />

feedback and even challenges from the field can contribute to the long<br />

term growth process of the company,” Jim said.<br />

Jim believes that great leadership relies upon a free exchange of ideas<br />

and feels he can serve the board by functioning in the capacity of a<br />

liaison between the field and corporate management. He feels that even<br />

conflicting ideas can sometimes facilitate a healthy dialogue between<br />

corporate and the field and can contribute in significant ways to the longterm<br />

progress and vision of a company. Jim wants to help that process as<br />

a member of the Advisory Council.<br />

Jim has been independently self-employed for the last 25 years and working in network marketing for over<br />

a decade. In that time he has been searching for a company with all the pieces in place and is convinced<br />

that <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> is that company. Jim joined <strong>Max</strong> in February of this year and went Diamond in<br />

June.<br />

Jim compared his past experience in network marketing to buying a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, and putting<br />

it together, only to discover that a piece is missing. After looking all over to find the last piece, exhausting<br />

every possible location, you realize the piece was never there in the first place; that the box the puzzle<br />

came in was shipped absent this one critical piece. He has experienced more than his share of companies<br />

that have so much going for them but are missing one or two key pieces that often result in that company’s<br />

either losing momentum or going under completely.<br />

Jim is convinced that <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> has all of the pieces in place to create the opportunity for longterm<br />

health and well-being for its customers, and significant residual income for its Associates. It combines<br />

a savvy corporate team with business smarts, experience and exceptional talent with impressive field<br />

leadership and a pool of Associates that is constantly growing and becoming stronger. Add to that a firstrate<br />

compensation plan and groundbreaking, life-changing products and you have a company that is going<br />

to set the standard for the rest of the industry.<br />

Getting all the pieces to fit soundly together is one thing the Advisory Council can work to achieve, and a<br />

task Jim feels he is up to. <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> is lucky to have Jim, Tim and others of their caliber working<br />

together to make <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> all that it can be.<br />

Amigos of Honduras: Changing Lives<br />

Year ‘Round<br />

Christmas is a time for giving, but for Amigos of Honduras giving<br />

is a year-round proposition. Humanitarian efforts to fund water<br />

projects to villages, whose residents have often never had<br />

running water, are ongoing. Children in such villages are often<br />

forced to spend the better part of their day carrying water over<br />

rugged terrain back to their village. After funneling running water<br />

to the village, Amigos of Honduras funds and participates in the<br />

building of a school, so not only do the children have extra time<br />

in their day that used to be spent getting water, but they are able<br />

to receive an education and prepare for a better future. Amigos is an organization whose projects <strong>Max</strong><br />

<strong>International</strong> is proud to have a hand in funding and intends to have a long-term partnership with.<br />

Dave Riley, founder of Amigos of Honduras, said he and his partners like to make a trip to Honduras in<br />

December but won’t be able to this year because they will be going down in February to see the completion<br />

of the current water project in El Ocotillo. They will then begin the building of a school in the same area.<br />

This will mark the third water and school project for the people in rural areas of Honduras in an effort<br />

to help them become self-sufficient. Local residents are very instrumental in bringing the projects to<br />

fruition and help with every phase. Dave said that after a presentation given at the <strong>Max</strong> Convention in<br />

September he received donations equaling more than $8,000 from <strong>Max</strong> Associates, which paid for about<br />

half of the total costs for the water project. He was extremely grateful for the help he has received from<br />

the company.<br />

In addition to such water and school projects, Amigos helps with an<br />

AIDS project in Roatan, medical funding for a doctor in La Ceiba,<br />

and the funding and building of a pig farm in Comayagua. A friend of<br />

Amigos named Carlos lost his farm after Hurricane Mitch in 1998 and<br />

couldn’t secure funding to replant beans to begin harvesting again,<br />

so the fertile land of his farm lay dormant for many years. Amigos<br />

stepped in and funded a pig farm that would allow the farm to become<br />

self-sustaining. It now employs three people who help maintain it<br />

year-round, and contribute to its spotlessly clean environment. Corn<br />

is raised on the land to feed the pigs along with a daily food supplement that keeps them healthy and<br />

valuable. Since the project began in March 2006, they have raised six litters of pigs.<br />

Amigos is always on the lookout for smaller micro-projects throughout rural areas of Honduras in addition<br />

to the bigger water and school projects. For instance they bought a freezer for a store owner so he could<br />

sell ice cream and other frozen items to go along with his usual inventory.<br />

Christmas in Honduras, while a humble affair compared to what many are used to here, is a joyous time.<br />

Most of the celebrating takes place on Christmas Eve. Traditions such as decorating Christmas trees<br />

are somewhat impractical, but they celebrate in other ways. They make<br />

tamales (a rare treat) on Christmas Eve and light fireworks. Christmas<br />

presents with the Hondurans’ modest means are also a rarity. Amigos<br />

of Honduras helps fund Christmas projects. They worked on one with<br />

a woman who assists with an AIDS project. She sent Amigos a list of<br />

names and photos with a little bio of 40 children in one rural village. This<br />

gave them an idea of the personality, needs and wants of each child.<br />

Donations from Amigos supporters made it possible for them to take<br />

presents to each of these children.<br />

Last year they brought a bag of toys down with them when they visited<br />

Honduras in December. One child, who had just received a race car,<br />

approached them to ask if they had one more toy for his little brother<br />

who was sick. Sadly, they had exhausted their supply of toys and had<br />

to report there was nothing left. They watched as the little boy went<br />

behind a partition, where his sick brother lay, and gave his only toy for<br />

Christmas to his little brother. They were so touched by this they did<br />

some legwork and were able to track down another toy so both boys<br />

received a Christmas present.<br />

Dave looks forward to a long-term partnership with <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong><br />

in the future. He is working with Vice President of Sales, Bob Kaelin, to<br />

develop a system for ongoing contributions from <strong>Max</strong> Associates to help fund upcoming projects in the<br />

Honduras region.<br />

Dr. Timothy Kershenstein, a member of <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>’s Health Care<br />

Professional Advisory Board, is a strong proponent of preventative health care.<br />

He would like to see a world where emergency healthcare in later years is no<br />

longer necessary because of good health. He said all too often a person will<br />

start accumulating wealth sometime around their twenties and then by the time<br />

they are sixty, due to an unhealthy lifestyle, they will pour much of their money<br />

into fixing all of the damage they’ve done to their bodies through the years.<br />

Proper nutrition through healthy lifestyle and diet and the <strong>Max</strong> trio of products,<br />

<strong>Max</strong>GXL ® , <strong>Max</strong> WLX and <strong>Max</strong> N-Fuze, work together to effectively contribute<br />

to long-term health. Living a healthy lifestyle can allow the nest egg to be spent on things other than<br />

emergency health care in the twilight years and allow the person to live a longer, more fulfilled life.<br />

Dr. Kershenstein has had a busy month, both as a member of the Advisory Board and with various projects<br />

he is working on to promote health-related products to people throughout the world. Yet he found time in<br />

the midst of his busy schedule to recruit enough people to be this month’s top Associate recruiter. He just<br />

returned from Chile where he met with a man who specializes in health related products and introduced<br />

him to <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>’s products. There is a high incidence of illness and health concerns in Chile, as in<br />

many other countries throughout the world, and Dr. Kershenstein is confident that <strong>Max</strong> products will soon<br />

Steven said he thought, “Perfect. I’ll experiment on my mom to see it if it works.” His mom felt results in<br />

the first week on the product. His sisters started on it and got results, not quite as quickly as his mother,<br />

but within a few weeks. Steven became convinced in a short time that this was the company for him.<br />

He said that so often supplements sold through network marketing companies require a lot of explanation<br />

because the supplements can often take several months to work in your system before you see substantial<br />

results. When you have a product like <strong>Max</strong>GXL it virtually sells itself.<br />

Steven said he doesn’t have to oversell at all because of the effective marketing tools and the powerful<br />

nature of the products. He said it is the shortest sales cycle he’s ever seen in his many years in network<br />

Maurice Walker was a seasoned network marketer before <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>.<br />

So when his network marketing buddy, Todd Strand, contacted him with an email<br />

other vital information is also a powerful tool, and should be used hand-in-hand with three-way calls. They<br />

can watch the videos of Dr. Keller and Steve Scott which gave Maurice his first exposure to the company<br />

and sparked an interest that led to him taking a closer look. He feels Dr. Keller and Steve Scott discuss the<br />

products in a way that make it hard to ignore their groundbreaking and potentially life-changing qualities.<br />

Erika Seamayer was surprised to be a top recruiter of the month. She<br />

doesn’t feel like she’s been working at all, just having fun introducing people to<br />

the company and its products. She is a single mother who has made a living as an<br />

aesthetician for the last 20 years. She said that business in her chosen profession<br />

is extremely slow right now so <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> is a welcome side job that has<br />

yielded a lot of success in a short time. She is a part of Team Elite which includes<br />

such team players as Ty Thomas and Antione McBay, who were top recruiters last<br />

month. It is a team that has seen a lot of success in a short time and has found<br />

a system that really works. She also attributes a lot of her success to the support<br />

of her 14-year-old daughter Erika Laine. Erika said her daughter has discussed <strong>Max</strong>GXL in their meetings,<br />

understands the compensation plan thoroughly and is great at following up with people.<br />

Erika has been focusing mainly on friends and people she is well acquainted with and built a strong rapport<br />

with over the years who trust her already. When recruiting someone she often sends an email giving basic<br />

information about <strong>Max</strong> and its products and then will follow up with a phone call. This method has worked<br />

very well for her. She said that as a healthy 39-year-old woman she is amazed by how many people out<br />

there need to take sleep aids and other medications to help them function better and get through the day.<br />

She has found that many people she has introduced to the product have been able to replace over-thecounter<br />

sleep aids with <strong>Max</strong>GXL.<br />

She has also had success with <strong>Max</strong> WLX. She doesn’t have a lot of weight to lose but has lost four pounds<br />

the production of it in the cells, but none of them even approached the effectiveness of <strong>Max</strong>GXL.<br />

He became so sold on the product he plays the Dr. Keller video in his office for patients as they wait. He wants<br />

<strong>Max</strong> congratulates Al Greer for being our top Preferred Customer recruiter once again this month. Al was<br />

honored at the <strong>Max</strong> Imagine Convention for his stellar recruiting skills. Dr. Marabella Alhambra, who<br />

was featured as a top recruiter last month, was one of our top recruiters again this month. Keep up the<br />

great work! Antonio Caparros was also a top recruiter for the month but we were not able to reach<br />

him for comment.<br />

Drs. Lewis and Maryellen O’Reilly heard about <strong>Max</strong>GXL ® back in<br />

July but only became active in recommending it to patients, family and<br />

friends at the end of September. Maryellen is a family practitioner. Lewis,<br />

who goes by Lew, has a PhD in biochemistry. Lew and Maryellen have<br />

always taken extra precautions where their patients are concerned and<br />

they wanted to not only go on <strong>Max</strong>GXL themselves for a period of time,<br />

but thoroughly examine the medical testing and experiences of others<br />

who have taken it. Having been given so many supplements from patients<br />

and others over the years, they have built up a lot of skepticism.<br />

Maryellen said before <strong>Max</strong>GXL, in fact, they had never tried a supplement that significantly impacted their<br />

health. After going on the latest supplement they would often look at each other over the dinner table and<br />

ask, “So do you feel any different?” Very seldom did they feel much of anything. But that all changed with<br />

<strong>Max</strong>GXL. Lew experienced a significant increase in energy. He has always been active but said exercise<br />

problems. She is now back to her normal routine without any knee discomfort. A patient who was having<br />

respiratory problems is now breathing normally and sleeping better than she has in years.<br />

Lew has a brother who is involved with the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland who, according<br />

busy travel schedule made it difficult for him to stay on a routine. He noticed a significant difference and<br />

realized he functioned much better when he was taking it, so he asked Lew to send him some more.<br />

Lew and Maryellen are very excited about <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> and its products and anticipate recommending<br />

them well into the future.<br />

Deborah Cato is a career homemaker with a passion for anti-aging products,<br />

but she has virtually no network marketing experience. Her husband told her she<br />

would be a great salesperson because she is good with people and has the gift<br />

of gab as well as a knack for finding good products. She has also built a strong<br />

rapport with many friends who trust her judgment when picking out products –<br />

and Deborah feels it is all about the product. The only other network marketing<br />

company she was involved with was one she never tried to promote because,<br />

although she was interested enough to buy the products herself, she was never<br />

sold enough to try to introduce her friends to them.<br />

That all changed with <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>. She became a Preferred Customer three months ago and started<br />

receiving <strong>Max</strong>GXL on AutoShip. With years of experience in anti-aging products Deborah found <strong>Max</strong>GXL to<br />

people. Deborah pointed out that for her, making money is secondary to helping people improve health and<br />

Chad Statham, from Plano, TX, has 22 years of experience in direct selling<br />

and has seen a lot of companies come and go.<br />

“I had come across pretty much every sort of product and organization you<br />

Todd Strand, from Temecula, CA, said that going Platinum<br />

friend of his who came from another network marketing company where<br />

they had both been making six figure incomes. They took a tremendous<br />

Elaine and Rick Lynas, from London, ON, have been working in network<br />

team. Rick said it is all about digging for Gold and watching people go Gold around you. Helping team<br />

members and others succeed is the ultimate satisfaction because it’s not just about you but it helps build a<br />

solid foundation that leads to long-term success for everyone and helps the company thrive in the years and<br />

decades ahead. Elaine said she and Rick get teased sometimes because they are obsessive about setting<br />

and obtaining goals. They have their goals listed, taped and magnetized to their refrigerator, bathroom and<br />

in their car and wherever they are, so they are always reminded of what they want to accomplish. They<br />

may occasionally fall shy of their goals because they are focused on helping a teammate meet his or her<br />

goals, and they are okay with that, as long as they are moving forward. That’s the important thing.<br />

Elaine said it has been great to see people who have no network marketing experience get results and<br />

start having financial success, going Bronze and Silver and taking steps toward realizing their dreams. She<br />

has often tried to involve her family with past companies but they were never interested and didn’t want<br />

anything to do with the industry because their impressions of it had always been negative. With <strong>Max</strong>, not<br />

only is her family getting amazing results with the products but they are getting involved in the business

first time and are becoming more and more excited about it.<br />

Rick said with past companies the primary focus for people they associated with was all too often making<br />

money. While that is no doubt important, when it becomes the primary focus, it is often at the expense of<br />

other things, like a solid company or a product you firmly believe in. When all the elements are in place<br />

financial success happens as the result of the passion you have in sharing it with others and helping others<br />

find the same success.<br />

“That’s what we have at <strong>Max</strong>,” Rick said. “It’s a company you can give your whole heart and soul to.<br />

Because of that we are attracting the best of the best of the best within the industry to this company.”<br />

Scott and Darlene Unclebach, of Frisco, TX, attribute their success<br />

to an amazing team, an incredible product and just opening their mouths<br />

to share it with people and not being afraid to show their passion for it.<br />

They have never been involved with a network marketing company<br />

before <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>. Scott said the industry held some negative<br />

connotations for him. But since coming to <strong>Max</strong> he has realized that many<br />

of his fears of network marketing were unfounded. He said it is one of<br />

the easiest things he’s ever done. He gets to work with good friends promoting a product that changes<br />

people’s lives. What could be better?<br />

“I signed up two people today, in fact,” he said.<br />

Scott feels it is a business with products you want to tell people about because you want to bless their<br />

lives. There is almost a feeling of obligation. He heard about <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> and <strong>Max</strong>GXL ® when his<br />

brother, Michael, who, after major complications in the wake of an operation, had his health restored to<br />

him when he was beginning to wonder if he’d ever be the same. Scott said he and his mother had similar<br />

results on the product and have been passionate about telling people about it. That’s the secret of his<br />

success, a belief in the product that is so strong he can’t help but open his mouth.<br />

He said he had one team member, who he never thought would want to be involved with the business,<br />

come up to him recently and say he wanted to become an Associate. He said he has very successful friends<br />

who are not really looking for anything different in terms of a career who decided to sign up for extra<br />

income and because of what an amazing opportunity it is.<br />

Dr. Tim Kershenstein, of San Antonio, TX, has a lot in common with Dr. Keller.<br />

He develops his own health products and is intent on doing his part to help<br />

improve the health and quality of life of people throughout the world. He believes<br />

health care should be preventative in nature and that people should give the<br />

body the fuel it needs to ward off health problems in the future. His philosophy<br />

accounts largely for the success he has had as an Associate. He feels mission<br />

driven to share the <strong>Max</strong> message with people everywhere he goes.<br />

He has served on <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>’s Health Professional Advisory Board where he talked to Associates at<br />

the regional meetings in November, discussing <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>’s trio of products, <strong>Max</strong>GXL, <strong>Max</strong> Weightloss<br />

System and <strong>Max</strong> N-Fuse and how they work together to promote better health through maintenance<br />

and long-term prevention. He is a seasoned businessman who runs a medical practice. With so many<br />

responsibilities, he managed to become the top Associate recruiter this month, which was instrumental in<br />

his advancement to Diamond.<br />

He said the fact that he is able to find enough time in his busy schedule to work the business enough<br />

to go Diamond should give other Associates hope that they can do the same. Making it a part of your<br />

daily routine and finding opportunities to share it with people, both by sharing information about the life-<br />

changing products and the business opportunity, is possible for just about anybody. He was able to help<br />

his son Timothy advance to Gold by using the tried-and-true duplication system.<br />

To show the importance of duplication, Dr. Kershenstein used the example of the man who finally broke<br />

the four-minute mile, Roger Bannister, and said since then others have followed suit and broken his record,<br />

setting even higher standards. When we break down the barriers in our lives that stand in the way of<br />

achieving great things we find that our potential is limitless. Maybe the barrier standing in our way is<br />

finding that first Associate to recruit and then using the same method to recruit the next time and the next.<br />

It’s about consistency and doing what works over and over.

At the <strong>Max</strong> Imagine Convention last September, Mike Larkins told of<br />

meeting with Jim Collins, author of Good to Great. Collins shared a quaint<br />

expression for staffing a corporate team. As Mike phrased it, “You need to<br />

get the right people in the right seats on your bus. They must all share the<br />

same chemistry and values.” <strong>Max</strong> is known for having the right people on<br />

its executive bus!<br />

As of November 15, 2008, a <strong>Max</strong> corporate realignment shifted some seats<br />

on the bus putting the right people in the right place.<br />

First, one seat that did not change, Peter Nordberg continues to serve as<br />

Chief Executive <strong>Office</strong>r for <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong>.<br />

Mike Larkins, who headed up <strong>Max</strong>’s international division, is assuming the<br />

role of <strong>Max</strong> <strong>International</strong> President. “We are repositioning, covering our<br />

bases as we prepare for the next stage of taking this company to the<br />

highest levels,” Mike said.<br />

Craig Case will now serve as Executive Vice President of Field Development<br />

and Strategy. Craig will work with the field in identifying and teaching the<br />

characteristics of successful Associates. “There are things that successful<br />

people do that should be taught to others,” Craig stated. Craig’s tremendous<br />

motivational and training gifts will energize Associates wherever he<br />

travels.<br />

Mike brings a depth of corporate experience and a unique ability to bring<br />

people together, optimizing their strengths and talents. Mike has remarked<br />

that we now have even stronger management.<br />
