Founders Message
Fred ninow: A Buzz in The Air at Max International
There’s a buzz in the air at Max International. The
Imagine Convention is now just weeks away! You
should be able to feel the energy radiating all the
way to where you’re at!
As we look back over a hugely successful year, we
have so many people to thank. First and foremost,
our wonderful Associates who caught the vision
Steve, Greg and I had when we decided to start
this company. Without the dedication and passion
our Associates have shown, Max International
would not be where it is today.
We are truly grateful for the expertise of renowned
scientist and researcher, Dr. Robert H. Keller. His
tireless efforts to share the benefits of MaxGXL ® , have brought health and prosperity
to tens of thousands.
It is with great delight that we share with you that Dr. Keller has written a scientific
monograph on glutathione that gives wonderful insights into this powerhouse
tripeptide. His amazing book will be available at the Imagine Convention—September
25-27, 2008.
We are also thrilled that the world’s foremost expert on leptin, Dr. Ron Rosedale, has
accepted an invitation to speak at our Convention! His best-selling book, The Rosedale
Diet: Turn Off Your Hunger Switch, is based on the science of leptin. Dr. Rosedale is an
expert in nutritional and metabolic medicine. He will share the science behind losing
weight and keeping it off. You will learn just how valuable Max WLX is as Dr. Rosedale
shares the science behind the discovery of leptin.
We have so much planned for you at our second Max Convention. You’ll hear from
Steve Scott, Greg Fullerton and me as we thank you for making Max International a
success! You have done a spectacular job in making Max International and our groundbreaking
products famous.
Our Convention days will be filled with inspiring, motivating and even some laughter-filled general sessions.
(Have you heard Greg Fullerton speak? If not, you’re in for a treat!) You will learn the awesome science that
is the foundation for Max International’s products. Priceless information will be shared with you by field leader
Bo Short about the basic but bankable steps that will fuel your business success. Alan Sickman will teach his
tried and true methods of simply sharing Max and how to craft your success.
The dynamic duo of Rick and Michelle Teague will show you how to MAXimize the Compensation Plan so that
you receive the highest compensation for your efforts. Ron Rosedale, MD, has stacks of fascinating research
to share with you about the power of leptin in weight-loss control. Max International Vice President, Dave
Bagley, will speak on the intriguing them: “A Breakthrough Approach to Nutritional Support.” Chris Cucchiara’s
experience in reaching out to others will show you how to fire up your “warm market!”
Are you ready to energize your life with Max International? New Max Associates can take advantage of the
individual entities, we have to form a united front.”
Having just come off the Momentum Tour and with
Convention on the horizon, Mickey Burns emphasized
the importance of such events as we look to unite
with Associates both in our teams and as a company.
“We can’t operate as individual entities, we have to
form a united front,” she said.
Mickey said it is a beautiful thing when different,
contrasting and complimentary personalities work
toward a common goal. A great example of this
concept was on display at the Momentum Tour in
Toronto when she joined Chris Cucchiara, Bo Short
and Ty Tribble in sharing a message that was both
instructional and consistent with Momentum Tour
meetings throughout the company.
“Bo is the inspirational one, Chris is the superhero,
Ty, the brainiac, and I’m the practical one,” Mickey
said. Their contrasting personalities and approaches
combined for something far more powerful than any
of them could have achieved alone. The same is true
of teams throughout the company. “The message is
consistent and remains the same from team-to-team
and city-to-city, but our varied approaches give it the
spice the message needs to keep it interesting and
make it work for everyone,” she noted.
Mickey said we won’t really know how effective
events like the Momentum Tour and Convention
“one of the biggest mistakes team
members make is they think people
in their upline are too busy and
so they don’t contact us.”
are until a few months after the fact, when we see
how Associates in the field respond. To get a true
opinion of how it went, Mickey said, you’d have to
ask someone in the audience, toward whom the
message was directed, a person who consistently
works the business.
Max International may be something this person
works on the side, part-time, who is seeing results
because of their commitment to the company and
belief in their ability to succeed. That’s the type of
person who will get the most from the Momentum
Tour, Mickey said. They will take the knowledge and
inspiration from the meeting and start seeing results
within their team as they apply the concepts and
make them a living reality.
In addition to attending events, Mickey advises new
recruits or Associates looking to succeed to “find
someone in your upline you can follow and don’t be
afraid to constantly ask for their help.”
“One of the biggest mistakes team members make
is they think people in their upline are too busy and
so they don’t contact us,” she said. “Everything we
recruiting / training Mickey Burns: “We can’t operate as
3

ecruiting / training
4
do is duplicatable. You need to bother us and get the
information you need to repeat our success. That’s
our job.”
Mickey said she called her sponsor three of four times
a day when she was first starting out and did exactly
what he did. Mickey also focused on recruiting people
that she knew. She will often ask people at a Max
meeting to raise their hands if they were recruited by
someone they didn’t know. Very seldom does a hand
go up after that question. A huge majority of Associates
are recruited by people they know. Being recruited into
the company the right way is important.
“If people are brought in properly they will be trained
and they will succeed. Focusing on the basics is the
sure way to success. Stick with the tools. Have people
listen to Steve Scott’s vision on the website and do
three-way calls with people in your upline. Keep it
simple and repeat the process again and again.”
Another thing that is vital for Associates to do is take
the products themselves. Many people who had zero interest in the company prior to taking the product have
boundless enthusiasm after taking it. Passion grows out of personal experience, not practical knowledge.
Mickey said now is the time to become a part of Max. Now, when the company is in two countries instead of
a hundred, we have two products instead of ten, and Associates can mingle with the founders at Convention
without waiting in line for two hours.
Mickey has had many interests in the past. In addition to her successful turn in advertising, she was also
passionate about film and music. Recently she’s developed a singleness of vision. Her only passion these
days, she said, is shaking people awake. Helping people rise from their cubicles and 9-to-5 jail cells and find
freedom through network marketing, and specifically Max International.
A person first getting involved in network marketing may feel like they are sacrificing security – no health
insurance or guaranteed paycheck. But rather, they get paid based on their contribution and eventually make
enough to afford their own health care or insurance. Then, as a person in the company observes Associates
around them going into semi-retirement as their residual income reaches well into the five-figures-a-month
mark, their faith in their ability to do the same increases. And they find freedom, in terms of time, money and
health that they could have only dreamed was possible.
If you have ideas or suggestions of how we can offer better support to help you reach even
higher levels of success, we would love to have your feedback. Please contact our Sales
Director, Bob Kaelin either by letter to our corporate office or by email: bob@maxgxl.com.
We look forward to hearing from you and implementing your ideas!

Tour emphasizes unique nature of Max International.
When Charlene Ragsdale journeyed to Salt Lake City
on a fly-in last March, the strong impression she was
left with was that Max International is different from
anything she has experienced in network marketing.
She and many others left the Momentum Tour with
this impression. She is pleased that many people who
have never had the benefit of participating in a fly-in
were able to experience the same excitement and
motivational charge of listening to company leaders
at the Momentum Tour. The Momentum Tour went
through her hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada three
times and Associates in the area would have been
happy to have had another three or more.
Charlene has worked in network marketing for a
number of years with several different companies. She
said that unlike other companies she’s been involved just helping people increase wealth – though we
with, Max is very mission oriented. The speakers are are doing that and that is important – but we are
always passionate about their message, but they are
also laid back, sincere and honest. The meetings are
impacting the quality of people’s lives.”
hype-free, unlike many opportunity meetings she’s Charlene said that Max products have completely
experienced with other companies. She never has to transformed the lives of her family and she has seen
worry about what a guest she brings to the meeting them impact friends and Associates in remarkable
might think, because her guests always leave with ways. Meeting together and hearing stories of
strong, positive impressions. They often repeat her people’s experience with the products, further
own words when she was first introduced to Max fuels the passion they feel for the products and the
company. Convention will be like the Momentum Tour
only magnified several times because of the intensive
Charlene said at Max it’s
training and exposure to key
truly about the product. "We’re not just helping people players within the company.
In other companies she’s
been involved with the
first questions people ask
doing that and that is important–
She felt the Momentum Tour
had the desired effect of
when they get together but we are impacting the
helping Associates unite in
are: How much money quality of poeple’s lives"
are you making? What
other leaders in the Clark
level have you achieved?
County region of Nevada are
Or how much revenue is your team generating? making plans to get together for monthly meetings,
She said at Max she and other Associates can go so they can re-spark, on a regular basis, the kind
days without talking about money at all. “We’re not of energy that was present at the Momentum Tour.
notes from the field Charlene ragsdale: Momentum
notes from the field
They are uniting their efforts regardless of whether or not they are on the same team or benefiting financially
as a result. Their primary motive is the love of helping people, which is further evidence of the unique nature
of Max International.
Charlene knows of people who wouldn’t be going to the Convention if it weren’t for the Momentum Tour,
although it wasn’t emphasized quite as much as she would have liked. One person who was recruited at the
Momentum Tour said he only wanted to sign on if he could go to Convention. Charlene joins team leaders
throughout the company in hoping that Associates company-wide can have that kind of enthusiasm for
Convention, and many undoubtedly do. She can’t wait to meet with company leaders and fellow Associates
in Salt Lake at the end of September.
®
During the summer of 2007 I was training to run a marathon in the fall, when
I underwent what I call the “bad day”. After being rushed to the hospital with
symptoms of an irregular heart beat I ended up in the cath lab where a heart
catherization procedure was performed. Turned out I didn’t have a heart attack, I
had an irregular heartbeat and ended up with a pacemaker. After two days in the
hospital I went home to recover. After two weeks of rest I was released to return
to physical activity such as running so I called a buddy and we went out for a my
post pacemaker run. After just a couple hundred yards I knew something was
wrong. My right leg just wouldn’t work, I was literally dragging. So I went back to
Michael Unclebach the hospital where I was diagnosed with having a blood clot from the heart cath
Sherman, TX
procedure. After several rounds of blood thinners and no relief, a second procedure
was performed to try to reopen my right leg. When that didn’t work I went to see a vascular surgeon who
diagnosed an allergic reaction to the plug device that was used to seal the original heart cath procedure. It
took two weeks to get to the vascular surgeon to clean out my artery and restore proper blood flow to my
right leg. I went for two weeks with extremely diminished blood flow to my right leg, causing severe damage.
As my doctor put it “your right leg has just undergone a stroke.” I was sent home to rehab my damaged leg.
My first workout consisted of a three minute walk with a limp. After three months of rehabbing my right leg
I was up to an 11 minute walk/jog with a limp. I was pretty discouraged. Then I got a phone call from Rick
Teague who called and talked to me about MaxGXL. I guess he was moved by my story and sent me a one
month supply of product. After just ten days I ran for 20 minutes, after 30 days I ran for 30 minutes, after six
weeks I ran for over an hour. Believe me, I had tried everything before Max showed up and nothing seemed
to work! MaxGXL gave me my leg back. Thank you Max, and thanks Dr. Keller.
With great appreciation,
Michael Unclebach
I have been an associate for about four months, and my wife and I
have been taking MaxGXL since then. My wife and I are 55, and she has
needed reading glasses since she was about 40. Of course as time has
gone on, she has needed to increase the strength of the glasses more
and more. She could not read without them. The other day, we went to
breakfast at a restaurant, and she could read the menu, even the smaller
print! It wasn’t easy, BUT SHE COULD DO IT! I was amazed! I am nearsighted,
and have worn glasses for many years, and I swear that my
vision is definitely improving. When I go to work, I take my glasses off,
Evan & Barbara Olson shortly after getting there, and don’t put them back on until it is time to
Eureka, CA
go home. I am due to see my optometrist this year, so I am going to wait
a couple more months, and then see if there is any change in my prescription.
We are firm believers in MaxGXL, and actually have several other great results from using the product.
Has MaxGXL made a difference in your life? We would love to feature you and your testimonial
in upcoming publications. There are myriad ways MaxGXL can impact your life. Please send your
testimonial by email to karen@maxgxl.com and if we choose your submission, we will ask you to
sign a release so that we can use your words.
Max International honors the
Top associate recruiters
dr. Jack Mustard, a chiropractor from Amarillo, Texas, not only knew about glutathione before a family
friend introduced him to MaxGXL, but was an expert on the subject. He had studied up on it extensively and
knew of the benefits of increasing glutathione at an intracellular level. Dr. Mustard has talked extensively
about glutathione on a weekly radio show called “The Power is On” which is broadcast to people within a
250-mile radius of Amarillo. The last time he talked about it on air, he received a huge response from listeners
wanting to know more. Dr. Mustard has begun developing ideas for a book on the subject.
His friend, Bryan Wright, told him about MaxGXL during a detox seminar where they were talking about
glutathione for much of the day. Dr. Mustard was immediately interested and asked Bryan some pointed
questions about the product. Before this he was under the impression there were no products on the market
that would allow the body to absorb glutathione into the cells. He told Bryan he would try it and let him know
what he thought.
Dr. Mustard was blown away by the results. He was already very fit. He works out regularly and feels a moral
obligation to stay in tiptop shape for his patients. After going on MaxGXL he said he lost the few extra pounds
he was having a hard time losing and he developed the last pack-and-a-half of his six pack.
Dr. Mustard runs a wellness clinic for patients with chronic conditions. He believes strongly in helping
his patients through natural and nutritional methods, rather than drug treatments. MaxGXL is a perfect
complement to this method of care.
Since his initial experience with MaxGXL, Dr. Mustard has been recommending it to many of his patients
whom he feels could benefit from it. He has also told many friends and family about it and has recruited many
people in a short period of time. He encourages people to sign on as Associates so they can benefit financially
as well as physically and mentally.
When robin grigsby’s friend, Debra Koszka, told her about MaxGXL
she had already heard about the product through a woman she was doing
makeup on for a seminar five months earlier. (Among other pursuits, Robin
is a professional make-up artist). The woman gave her a sample packet of
MaxGXL. Robin put it in her pocket and forgot about it. The message was
lost on her because she was always being introduced to wellness products
and didn’t have any reason to think this was anything special.
Robin and Debra had worked in the some network marketing company
before and had become good friends through it. One day Robin asked
Debra what she was up to and Debra responded by telling her about
MaxGXL and Max International. The two women share a passion for wellness products and have each been
working in the industry for several years. Robin trusted Debra’s opinion because of the rapport they’d built
over the years. When Debra gave her a packet of MaxGXL, she knew it was the same product she had been
Max International Associate Rising Stars!

associate recognition
handed several months earlier. In contrast to that experience, Debra’s credibility and enthusiasm for the
product was infectious, so Robin was anxious to test it.
Debra told Robin MaxGXL had helped her husband sleep better, so Robin gave the sample to her husband
Steve first because he’d been having the same problem. Within a few days he was sleeping much better and
had far more energy to get through the day.
After signing up with her husband, Robin consulted with two other friends, one business savvy, the other
a wellness advisor with a PhD in nutrition. She gave a copy of the Max edition of Your Business at Home
to her business savvy friend. After reading the magazine from cover-to-cover Robin’s friend wanted to join
immediately because of the amazing backing behind the company. She was bowled over by names she
immediately recognized like Steve Scott, Greg Fullerton, Fred Ninow and Guthy-Renker and profiles of the
impressive Advisory Council members. Robin’s wellness advisor friend told her all about what a powerful
antioxidant glutathione was and also wanted to join Max when she learned about MaxGXL.
Like Debra, Robin has established a lot of credibility among her friends and acquaintances, so her passion
about Max and its products translates well with them and she has had a lot of success recruiting people in a
short time. Steve and Robin anticipate a bright future with Max International.
Despite keeping extremely busy with their many projects, Robin and Steve have been actively recruiting
people since signing on themselves. Robin said her kids have been very supportive through all of this and she
makes a point of spending quality time with them in the midst of her busy schedule.
Bob Lucas has been working in the network marketing industry for 24 years and has only worked with five
different companies in that time. He is very selective about the company he chooses to become a part of
and stays with each for a long time. Bob usually won’t get involved with a company that has been around
for less than three to five years. He said there is a huge failure rate among start-up companies because,
among other things, the backers’ pockets aren’t deep enough and they often run into unforeseen problems
as a result.
Bob made an exception with Max International because he could see it was an exceptional company. The
credentials of the Founders and company leaders combined with the simplicity of the message and the
products made it an opportunity he felt he couldn’t afford to pass up. He said he is 60 years old and after
seven days on the products felt and looked like he was 40.
“The simplicity of the message is the most important part. If the product works people will go out and tell
their story based on their own results,” Bob said. Each recruit can then go out and duplicate that success.
With Max WLX, for instance, people will see you’ve lost weight and immediately want to know how you did
it. You have an in without having done anything but lose weight. “You say, ‘I did it with this stuff,’ and they’ll
want to know how to get some. It’s simple,” Bob said.
Max International Associate Rising Stars!
11

associate recognition
12
His whole philosophy is centered in helping people succeed. “That accounts for my success in this industry. If
that is your focus, the money will follow. If you let people know about what you have, you will be successful.
If this old guy can do it, anyone can.”
silvia rattcliffe has run a fabric store for the last 38 years in Victoria, B.C. She is also very active in her
church and Rotary Club among other activities. She has built a solid rapport and gained the loyalty and
respect of a lot of people she interacts with on a daily basis.
So when she comes to them with a product like MaxGXL and a company like Max International, they listen.
She has worked other network marketing opportunities in the past but nothing that begins to compare
with Max International. She is so excited about MaxGXL she can’t stop talking to people about it. She feels
obligated to share with people because she knows how much it can help them.
Many of the people Sylvia has introduced to MaxGXL have seen amazing results. It is enormously fulfilling to
hear peoples’ stories and know that Max is making a difference in their lives. Silvia isn’t shy about sharing it
and talks to everyone. She recently went on an Alaskan cruise and had an opportunity to share it with people
she met there. Silvia said she has four nurse friends who are on the product and starting to recommend it
to patients and other Associates.
Silvia has been on missions to poor countries and has many connections in the Philippines. She can see how
such countries could benefit from Max International both in terms of health and wealth and can’t wait until
Max International is opened in more international locations.
Silvia said as nice as it is to have a supplemental income, with potential to become much more, it is even
more gratifying to see Max transform people’s lives. She said she loves it when someone comes up to her,
hugs her and thanks her for introducing them to Max International, or she receives an email that says,
“Thanks for being interested in my health.” She loves the thought of seeing people not only improve health
but increase wealth and maybe buy a home that they wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise.
“It’s all about helping people,” she said.
Max International congratulates
the Top preferred Customer recruiters
We congratulate Dr. Steve Sacks and Cynthia Denkin for another great month as top recruiters. They
were featured in last month’s newsletter.
al greer has been our top Preferred Customer recruiter seven months in a row
and continues to recruit an amazing number of people each month. Although the
majority sign on as Preferred Customers he has recruited an impressive number
of Associates as well. Al has worked in network marketing before and was very
successful, but had been out of it for a while. He wasn’t necessarily looking to get
back into the industry. He heard about Max International through a friend who
thought he could benefit from MaxGXL because his friend knew of the health issues
Al had been dealing with.
Al experienced an increase in energy within days of starting on MaxGXL; and within a couple weeks the
long-standing health issues he’d been dealing with were becoming a thing of the past. He became sold on
the product and had a powerful story to tell people. He then developed a system of sharing it that has been
remarkably effective.
In addition to sharing it with family and friends, he developed a system to contact a lot of people in a short
time. For him it has been both a matter of working the numbers and having a knack for making friends quickly.
It all grows out of a sincere interest in people and a desire to see them succeed and improve their health.
It also helps that Al is retired and Max is his full-time job. He tries to contact a minimum of 50 people a day.
Some days he contacts more than that. He discovered a way to buy leads cheaply. Many of the people he
contacts are already looking for a home-based business before he calls. Prior to contacting his leads he does
research and gets to know about the region they live in and acquires as much information as he can about
the person he’s contacting. This often enables him to strike up a conversation because he knows the person,
for instance, lives near a golf course or that the region a potential recruit lives in is famous for blueberries.
He is able to establish immediate rapport with many people using this method. Being genuinely interested in
them as people is really the key. This, combined with the fact that he believes strongly in the products he is
selling and has a strong personal testimonial to share, all play a role in his success.
Cheryl dubuc has been working as a registered nurse since 1981. The office
she has worked in for the 1ast 19 years uses natural supplements and vitamins as
alternative treatment for patients. As a result, their office is bombarded with offers
from companies that specialize in such products.
So when MaxGXL first came across their desk it could have easily been shuffled
away along with dozens of other products. The only reason it wasn’t is that it
claimed to be a product that increased intracellular glutathione. Cheryl knew about
glutathione. She has treated patients with a glutathione IV. She is aware of how
beneficial increasing glutathione at a cellular level is for patients with a wide variety of health issues. She had
heard of oral treatments that were glutathione based but none of them were very effective and didn’t work
at a cellular level.
She was very skeptical at first. After three days on MaxGXL she was thinking that the increased energy she
felt might be in her head. After five days she knew it wasn’t her imagination and that it was a product worth
a closer look. Soon after, five patients started taking it and all of them came back wanting more. Cheryl
didn’t have enough of a supply so she had to figure out how to get it on a regular basis and help her patients
receive a regular supply. Cheryl said the last time she worked in sales was when she worked at J. C. Penny
in high school. She has no experience in network marketing, yet after just a couple months in the company
is a top recruiter. This is simply an extension of her strong belief in the product. She recommends it not only
to patients but friends and family.
“It’s been really easy. I’m a cheerleader for the product because it has helped me and so many of the patients
in our office. Every person I’ve recommended it to has had positive results.”
Bonnaie Bauer runs a health and wellness center in Kelowna, B.C. She specializes
in alternative health treatments and exercise. She has also battled illness for several
years and spent thousands of dollars annually in supplements and other natural
products for her own health. She said with all the supplements she’s taken over the
years, nothing compares to MaxGXL. She sleeps better and has far more energy and
mental acuity than she had before she started taking it.
Bonnaie’s brother, Darren, told her about MaxGXL several months before she
started taking it. In her profession, and because of her physical challenges, she is
always being approached about various supplements, so she has to be selective. But she also knew about
glutathione, and was intrigued enough to take a closer look. The more she looked into Max International’s
products and the company itself, the more interested she became.
Bonnaie said she didn’t start actively recruiting people until she had been on MaxGXL for a while, she had to
thoroughly believe in it herself before she would share it with friends and clients.
Bonnaie’s Max business is a natural extension of her wellness center and she has recruited many people
through it. People come to her to find alternative methods for improving their health. Bonnaie has a real
passion for helping people and her motivation for introducing them to Max grows out of that. MaxGXL and Max
WLX fit perfectly into that environment. She said Max WLX is really starting to take off. Although they don’t see
themselves as being a weight loss center, the health benefits of Max WLX go hand-in-hand with wellness.
When introducing people to Max International and its products, Bonnaie said she is all about education. She
wants people to watch Steve Scott’s video on the website and become as informed as they can possibly be
before getting involved with the company.
platinum Associates
Mike unclebach, of Sherman, TX said that he did something
in seven months at Max International that he wasn’t able to
accomplish in 26 years of working in the insurance business – duplicate
his efforts through members of his team, or in his words, “duplicate myself.” He
now has more than half a dozen people on his team at Gold Associate or above
and dozens more who are in the process of duplicating the success of Mike and
others on the team. Mike said any serious business person tries to get people
on their team to duplicate what they have accomplished, regardless of what
business they’re in, but seldom succeeds. Mike feels his success is a reflection
of the company itself – the products, the Founders, corporate leaders and key
players like Dr. Keller. The package is so complete it’s hard not to succeed if a
person works hard and smart.
“We don’t need to reinvent the website or create our own tools. We just make the best use of what is there. If
you just work the system, that’s all you need.”
The beautiful thing about duplicating success in a company like Max, is you can do it again and again without
renting 500 square feet of floor space or hiring people to work a salaried position. But rather, people are
compensated based on what they put into it. The result ultimately is residual income for anyone who puts forth
the effort to achieve it.
As an example, Mike said that he used to go to Frisco, Texas a couple times a week to help conduct meetings.
Those meetings are still being conducted twice a week in a very effective way, whether or not he is able to be
there. Because of how solid Max is as a company, Mike said, it doesn’t require people who are seasoned network
marketers. Many people who have gotten involved have no experience in network marketing at all and have
become very successful, and even influential, as team members.
One of the most effective methods of promoting the business is to let people see your passion. Mike said there
is no substitute for it. Even though it may be the thousandth time you’ve told your story, it is often the first time
someone else has heard it. You should bring the same passion to it each time. You never know whose life may
be completely changed by hearing your story and seeing your enthusiasm, or the people you may lose by failing
to show how you feel.
“A Max leader can’t afford to have a bad day,” he said.
Being passionate about Max International and its products is no problem for Mike whose health, which had gone
quickly downhill due to complications after an operation, was restored. He is equally passionate about Max as
a business, which he has seen impact the lives of many people-from those who might make $500 to $1,000 of
extra income a month to people replacing a full-time career.
“It’s life changing,” he concluded.
Mitch eland, of Carollton, Texas, has worked in the medical field for the last 16
years, specializing in pain control, and in the oil industry for the last-two-and-half
years. It is a great time to be in that oil industry with oil prices fluctuating at well
over a $100 a barrel. But there are some problems. The oil industry is booming at
the expense of consumers and as Mitch pointed out, “you can’t take anyone with
you.” He is far more excited about Max International because it allows him to not
only build his own business but to bring a limitless number of people with him and
spread around wealth, freedom and, because of Max’s amazing products, health.
Speaking of the economy, Mitch said, everyone out there is looking for something.
A few years ago, selling people on Max may have been more challenging because a
lot more people were content where they were. Now, instead of contentment the average person, after watching
a dozen co-workers laid off, fear that they may be next. Headhunters, instead of approaching successful
businessmen with bigger, better opportunities are looking for jobs themselves.
“With the economy like it is, people are open and looking for something,” Mitch said. “And Max International is
the best opportunity out there.”
Mitch said it’s all about team work and building your own business by helping others build theirs. And he has
learned a lot about that in a short time. Mitch joined the company in May. He went Silver in June, Gold in July
and Platinum in August. Finding that kind of success involves learning from others who have been there and
passing that knowledge to the next person.
The Momentum Tour was a fount of information and inspiration. Mitch said the first speaker at the Momentum
Tour in his area, Bo Short, completely changed his thought process. Mitch said this is a business of expanding
from vision to vision and events like the Momentum Tour and Convention are where that takes place.
“When Bo Short came to town it was a watershed moment. I was thinking too small.”
When Mitch was first introduced to Max International, his friends got him here, but the overall alignment of the
company cemented him to it. The products, the Founders, the corporate leaders, and their clear vision for the
future of the company are what sold him on the fact that this was where he needed to be.
At Convention that experience will be reconfirmed for him, and many others who attend. Convention will be a
monumental event, like the Momentum Tour, only on a larger scale, where people can align themselves with the
company and expand visions of their place in it.

rick Hagar and riccardo Ferrari have advanced
quickly since they became Associates just about three
months ago. They said it wouldn’t have been possible
without their team.
“There is no ‘I’ in team,” Rick said. “We have tremendous
people in our organization and they all have played an
integral part in our success. We appreciate all the hard
work of our team and cherish our relationships with
them.” Whenever they advance he feels as if his entire
team has advanced.
Rick said their success has been the result of focusing on the basic fundamentals of this business. Keeping it
simple and tool driven, with an emphasis on training, is the key. In addition to sponsoring new people in the
company, it’s vital to keep members of your team apprised of upcoming events and to recharge your batteries
by attending events like the Momentum Tour and Convention.
“Such events are critical in building belief and developing long lasting relationships. We encourage Associates
to participate in every function possible. You become better trained, hear life changing stories and build an
unshakable belief which results in becoming a better leader,” Rick said.
Riccardo and Rick both feel that consistency, fighting distractions and staying rooted in the fundamentals are
critical to success. In the last company they were with, they were the number-one wage earners and built a
sales organization of nearly 200,000 people. In the short time they have been here they have already advanced
to Platinum and look forward a long, productive association with Max International.
diamond Associates
Chris and Tammy gingras feel their Diamond advancement happened
as a direct result of teamwork. Chris said without their team they are
nothing, which is true of network marketing generally. Tammy said the
beautiful thing about network marketing is that you achieve your goals
through a process of helping others fulfill their dreams.
Chris and Tammy advised Associates looking to advance in the company to
focus on each member of their team, get to know individual needs and goals
and do everything you can to help team members meet their objectives.
It’s also important to stay actively involved in education. Reading books
and other materials by successful people and following the patterns they
outline will help Associates find a similar path to success.
“The best students are millionaires,” Chris said.
You can also increase knowledge by attending meetings like the Momentum Tour and Convention. Chris and
Tammy helped with the Momentum Tour and they felt it was a great success. Tammy felt they had a particular
impact on couples who were taking a more serious look into the business. Many couples attending consisted of
one person who was working hard to build the business while the other was dragging his or her feet and was not
nearly as motivated. But many couples came up to Chris and Tammy afterwards and said they had recommitted
themselves and were inspired to work as a team because of the Gingras’s example.
“The great thing about working as a couple is that different personalities really enhance and complement each
other,” Tammy said. “Like me and Chris. Chris is the business-minded one and I’m the relationship builder.”
They feel the unity that was generated on the Momentum Tour was of vital importance. They think Convention
could have an even greater impact on the company.
“Every-day opportunity meetings are like regular fuel, the Momentum Tour is premium and Convention is like
rocket fuel, propelling people to the next phase,” Chris said.
Being successful at this business is about always getting better and improving. Convention is one sure way to
assist in this process. Chris said if a recruiter did nothing but make sure her team members made it to events
like Convention and the Momentum Tour she would be successful.
Tammy said she is especially excited for new Associates who are experiencing Convention for the first time. She
said the first time she went to a convention was an incredibly eye-opening experience. She had many “aha”
moments and acquired in a few learning-intensive days knowledge she may never have come upon otherwise.

double
diamond Associate
Carl stanitzky of Lafayette, LA, said that not a lot has changed in his
approach to the business since his last advancement. He said the great
thing about this business is that keeping it simple and doing the same thing
over and over are keys to success.
“In our case, it is all about plugging every new person into all of the tools
available to them, getting in touch with their leaders and teaching a threestep
system,” Carl said.
Carl encourages Associates just starting out or looking to advance, to not get
discouraged if things don’t happen right away. He said that most everyone
who associates with him regularly has heard his microwave popcorn analogy
which undoubtedly summarizes many people’s experience.
“This business is like microwave popcorn. For a few minutes nothing happens, but in a little while the popcorn
finally begins to go pop…pop…pop. Our team is now experiencing that and it is popping all over the U.S. and
Canada. It is gratifying to see so many come with us who have never been involved in network marketing, and
because our products are so good, they become passionate about sharing them with others.”
Carl said he feels that the Momentum Tour leading into this month’s Convention was the single biggest success
of anything he has been involved with in his 18 months in the business. He said he will be forever grateful to
Chris Cucchiara for spearheading the event and traveling all over the country to create the surge of excitement
that has resulted from it.
Carl said advancing in the company, especially Diamond and above, simply doesn’t happen without a solid,
supportive team. He said he feels fortunate to have a team with some of the great leaders of the company. Carl
mentioned several people who were instrumental in his advancement but didn’t want to leave anyone out. The
list includes many amazing people whose complimentary talents combine into one of the most successful teams
in the company.
Carl said he is very excited for Convention, partly because it is exciting to meet with people from the last
convention and see how they have progressed in that time. It is an inspirational time because, among other
things, when people are recognized for a job well done, it shows new people that they can do it too.
Carl expressed appreciation for his family, a wonderful wife, three successful children and four terrific
grandchildren. In addition to 34 productive years in insurance he has worked with several companies in network
marketing over the last 30 years.
“I have had good ones and bad ones, but I always believed that someday by the grace of God I would find
a company owned by people who cared. As we approach our second Convention I know I have found the
company for life. I hope Max Associates all come to feel the same.”
corporate message
22
CorporaTe Message
Mike Larkins: Max Enters Phase II
I am really honored and excited to be a part of the Max Corporate team.
We have tremendous potential and opportunity in front of us. I would
like to share some insights that might help you better understand where
we have been and where we are going.
All companies pass through three distinct phases of growth. Most ventures
are started by an entrepreneurial individual or group that has a great
idea that they launch and then work like crazy to make it successful. This
is referred to as Phase I. Phase I is where companies begin—and most
end. A new business comes to market with a product or an idea, and the
first priority is to discover a “success pattern” before time runs out. The
game is survival.
With survival as the only thing that matters, most Phase I companies
do a lot of muddling around, going in one direction, and then another. In this phase you must have cash
flow to survive, so companies try a lot of things, make a lot of mistakes and do some things that turn out to
be self-defeating. It is characterized by lots of crisis-to-crisis management with corporate leaders working
very hard to figure out the “success pattern.” It is characterized by experiences of excitement, confusion,
inventing, learning, anxiety, hope, trial and error, risk taking, frustration, elation, and innovation. Phase I is
an exhilarating roller coaster ride with plenty of ups and downs. Max International is emerging from Phase I
and company employees and Max Associates can all relate to the scenario described above. Max Founders,
company executives, field leaders and Associates did well. Everyone should be congratulated for navigating
and surviving the challenges of Phase I.
We have learned in Phase I that MaxGXL and Max WLX are incredible products that really work. We have
a Compensation Plan that exceeds industry expectations. We have a developing company culture that
attracts and creates loyal Associates and customers. We have unique Founders and executives that want Max
International to become a pace-setter in the industry. Most would agree that we have discovered a unique
“success pattern.”
With the success pattern in place, Phase II begins with relatively fast growth. All the pieces start to come
together. The mission of Phase II is to take the “success pattern” and duplicate it everywhere possible. Phase
II shifts the focus from survival to predictability. The company must become “effective” and “efficient” in its
operations, systems and service. In Phase I, almost everything is tolerated if it helps the company survive.
In Phase II, we look for ideas and systems that help us create uniformity, consistency and simplicity that will
help Associates grow their business. It is the time when the company scales up its personnel, systems and
overall capabilities to support the growth that the field creates. Phase II is about stability. Words that describe
Phase II are: normal, comfortable, systematic, profitable, structured, repetition, duplication and success.
As Max enters this phase of its growth and evolution, the company’s collaboration with field leaders and
Associates is of paramount importance. Cross-line systems like our 5-point “Max Story” presentation become

corporate message
vitally important. It is more difficult to grow if everyone is doing everything differently. We need more
uniformity with replicating websites, enrollment processes; “getting started” processes for new Associates
and other system requirements that will emerge as we grow.
Max Corporate is absolutely committed to get the personnel, systems and operations in place that will
empower us to become a billion-dollar company. If you thought Phase I was great, wait till you see what
happens in Phase II!
