Field Autonomous Systems
Large-scale processing, retrieval and complex analysis of medical and industrial
information
Scalable reasoning methods for large-scale processing, retrieval and analysis of
distributed, heterogeneous data.
In the context of medical and industrial applications, data sources provide
terabytes of structured (e.g. from databases or sensor systems) as well as
unstructured (e.g. text sources) information that must be processed in an
integrated and timely manner. Goal of the thesis is the development of highly
efficient and scalable reasoning methods for large scale processing, retrieval
and analysis. The methods will be implemented and evaluated in the context of
managing huge amounts of distributed, heterogeneous medical patient data and
industrial production and logistics data.
