The AmCham network is a highquality
network for making valuable
connections and building solid
business relationships. 2011 was
no exception, with great networking
offered throughout the year.
Spring was in full bloom with
AmCham’s 2nd Annual Spring
networking reception at Rydhave,
where more than 100 guests networked
with Justice Minister Lars
Barfoed, along with U.S. Ambassador
Laurie S. Fulton and many
other high level guests.
The importance of the transatlantic
relationship was underscored
at AmCham’s second annual
Transatlantic Business Reception.
The reception was held in April at
host Lundbeck’s Danish headquarters
in Valby. U.S. Ambassador
Laurie S. Fulton was on hand
to present the prestigious award
to Danish pump manufacturer,
Grundfos. The annual AmCham
award highlights the important
contributions and positive impact
of Danish companies actively
investing in the United States.
Prior to the award ceremony,
Ambassador Fulton addressed
the audience, stressing the
importance of the transatlantic
relationship, which generates

close to 5 trillion dollars in total commercial
sales per year. On the same note, AmCham’s
Executive Director Stephen Brugger pointed
out that Danish companies already employ
nearly 27,000 people in the U.S., and have
invested more than 5.2 billion USD.
A fantastic networking event in the fall was
AmCham’s annual Ambassador’s Reception
and Foreign Company of the Year Award,
where foreign companies’ achievements in
Denmark and abroad are highlighted. More
than 150 guests gathered for an afternoon of
quality networking at Copenhagen Rådhuset’s
“Festsal” and to find out which company
would win the prestigious award. Siemens
took the prize this year.
