The AmCham network is a highquality<br />
network for mak<strong>in</strong>g valuable<br />
connections and build<strong>in</strong>g solid<br />
bus<strong>in</strong>ess relationships. 2011 was<br />
no exception, with great network<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered throughout the year.<br />
Spr<strong>in</strong>g was <strong>in</strong> full bloom with<br />
AmCham’s 2nd Annual Spr<strong>in</strong>g<br />
network<strong>in</strong>g reception at Rydhave,<br />
where more than 100 guests networked<br />
with Justice M<strong>in</strong>ister Lars<br />
Barfoed, along with U.S. Ambassador<br />
Laurie S. Fulton and many<br />
other high level guests.<br />
The importance <strong>of</strong> the transatlantic<br />
relationship was underscored<br />
at AmCham’s second annual<br />
Transatlantic Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Reception.<br />
The reception was held <strong>in</strong> April at<br />
host Lundbeck’s Danish headquarters<br />
<strong>in</strong> Valby. U.S. Ambassador<br />
Laurie S. Fulton was on hand<br />
to present the prestigious award<br />
to Danish pump manufacturer,<br />
Grundfos. The annual AmCham<br />
award highlights the important<br />
contributions and positive impact<br />
<strong>of</strong> Danish companies actively<br />
<strong>in</strong>vest<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the United States.<br />
Prior to the award ceremony,<br />
Ambassador Fulton addressed<br />
the audience, stress<strong>in</strong>g the<br />
importance <strong>of</strong> the transatlantic<br />
relationship, which generates<br />

Connections That Add Value<br />
close to 5 trillion dollars <strong>in</strong> total commercial<br />
sales per year. On the same note, AmCham’s<br />
Executive Director Stephen Brugger po<strong>in</strong>ted<br />
out that Danish companies already employ<br />
nearly 27,000 people <strong>in</strong> the U.S., and have<br />
<strong>in</strong>vested more than 5.2 billion USD.<br />
A fantastic network<strong>in</strong>g event <strong>in</strong> the fall was<br />
AmCham’s annual Ambassador’s Reception<br />
and Foreign Company <strong>of</strong> the Year Award,<br />
where foreign companies’ achievements <strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>Denmark</strong> and abroad are highlighted. More<br />
than 150 guests gathered for an afternoon <strong>of</strong><br />
quality network<strong>in</strong>g at Copenhagen Rådhuset’s<br />
“Festsal” and to f<strong>in</strong>d out which company<br />
would w<strong>in</strong> the prestigious award. Siemens<br />
took the prize this year.<br />
