In
addition to the Women’s Studies Across Cultures International Consortium, the Women’s Studies
Center is part of the GEMMA Master's degree in Women's and Gender Studies in the European
Union. This is the first Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Women's and Gender Studies in Europe.
GEMMA is an interdisciplinary program that provides high quality academic education and professional
competencies for personnel working or intending to work in the areas of Women's Studies, Gender Studies and
Equal Opportunities across Europe. There are eight universities in this European consortium:

GEMMA World makes it possible for European students of the GEMMA program to visit non‐European research
and higher education institutions. The students receive a scholarship of 3,100 euros to spend a short research
or study period (up to 3 months) in one of these prestigious third country institutions during the 4 th semester
