These faculty were funded through GEMMA Master’s program. The Women’s <strong>Studies</strong> Center<br />

provided them with use <strong>of</strong> our <strong>of</strong>fice space and lounge, access to a computer as well as library<br />

privileges.<br />

The same opportunity is open to Women’s <strong>Studies</strong> faculty. One may establish a working<br />

relationship with these scholars and apply for funding within GEMMA to spend research time in<br />

the eight universities part <strong>of</strong> this consortium. They are considered faculty members in our<br />

program during their time at FIU and can be guest speakers in our classes.<br />
