SUMMER PROGRAM<br />
DEAR PARENTS:<br />
• Math Enrichment is a high quality summer program designed to enrich students’ academic abilities in a safe, fun-‐filled environment. Our<br />
English/Math Combo program is designed to help students improve their math, language arts, and computer skills in order to better<br />
prepare them for their upcoming school year. These classes are for Incoming Kindergarten to 8 th grade. We also have middle and high<br />
school math only classes. SOME OF THESE MATH CLASSES WILL EARN YOUR CHILD 10 HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS.<br />
• WASC ACCREDITED (Western Association of Schools and Colleges)<br />
• WE HAVE CLASSES FOR ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: SEE WEBSITE<br />
• MOST AFFORDABLE OF ANY SUMMER PROGRAM IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY<br />
EXCITING XCITING ACTIVITIES<br />
• FRIDAY MOVIE DAY ($10 FEE): Students will take a bus to Oakridge Mall and enjoy BRAVE, Friday June 22 ND . Middle School and High<br />
School Students will have additional movie choices.<br />
• MID-‐SUMMER FIELD TRIP ($55 FEE): Our field trip this summer will take place at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo on Friday July 13 th .<br />
• CARNIVAL ($10 FEE): This summer we will have an on site carnival at all our locations. On this day, students will spend the first two<br />
hours in class and the entire afternoon session will be the carnival. We will have Astro Jumps, Water Slides, Snow Cone, Cotton Candy<br />
Machine and a full BBQ. Please bring a change of clothes and towel if your child plans to get wet.<br />
• END OF THE SUMMER BANQUET ($20 FEE): The banquet will once again take place at Dave & Buster’s in Milpitas on Friday July 27 th .<br />
We encourage all students and their families to attend this year’s banquet, as we will be celebrating the program’s completion with a<br />
brunch buffet. All students will receive a Power Card with credits to play the various games, in addition to a certificate of completion of<br />
the summer course.<br />
• WII TIME: We will have Wii, Xbox Kinetic and PS3 motion systems available for students to use throughout the summer, along with a<br />
wide variety of games. Teachers sign-‐up their classes for 30 to 40 minutes of Wii time each week.<br />
• END OF THE SUMMER RAFFLE: At the end of program, we will raffle all the Wii, Xbox and PS3 bundles, we will also be raffling away<br />
iPods, Nintendo DS3D, PlayStation Vista, Apple Laptop, iPad 3, two 32 inch HDTV and various gift cards. Come join the fun!!<br />
***Please note that some of these activities have a small additional fee if your student wishes to participate***<br />
CLASSES OFFERED<br />
• Elementary English/Math Combo Classes (NO HOMEWORK)<br />
o Students will be introduced to next year’s curriculum in Language Arts and Math (current Kindergartens will learn 1 st<br />
grade, 1 st graders will learn 2 nd grade and 2 nd graders will learn 3 rd grade California State Standards, etc.)<br />
o In this class, students will spend half the day learning math concepts and the other half working on developing superior<br />
reading, writing and grammar skills. In addition, students will have the opportunity to fine-‐tune their typing and other<br />
basic computer skills on Apple Computers. We will have a class set of iPads for the Kindergartners, First, Second and<br />
Third Graders to share. We are going to try to integrate the upper grades. Every student who attends the English/Math<br />
Combo class will come back next fall as a well-rounded student.<br />
• Middle School and High School Level Math Classes<br />
o Pre-‐Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II/Trig, Pre-‐Calculus and Calculus AB (Current 7 th graders and high school<br />
students will move up to the next math level and earn 10 high school credits if he/she earns an “A or B” this summer)<br />
SPECIAL TUITION, DISCOUNT OPTIONS AND FLEX SPENDING ACCOUNTS<br />
• Regular Tuition = $925 WE HAVE EXTENDED OUR EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT OF $50 TO APRIL 21, <strong>2012</strong>. WE WILL<br />
DEDUCT THE DISCOUNT AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. THE TUITION AMOUNT WILL BE REDUCED TO $875.<br />
• Sibling discount of $25 for the first sibling and $50 for every other sibling<br />
• New and Improved Referral Program! Earn money and prizes for referring friends and family!<br />
• FREE before school care starting at 7:45 AM. After school care is available from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for only $5/hour.<br />
• Students will receive all necessary school supplies select by their classroom teacher along with a camp t-‐shirt.<br />
• All Math Enrichment fees can be used with flex spending accounts (FSA) offered by employers.<br />
HOW TO APPLY<br />
• Go to our website www.mathenrichment.net to register. A $300 non-‐refundable deposit will be required to reserve your student’s<br />
spot. We will deduct this from the $925. The remaining balance of $575 if you register before APRIL 21 st will be paid in May via<br />
credit card or check. We will contact you the first week of May with date and time of our orientation.<br />
