For its part, the community is banding together to help the families with burial costs. Police have collected at least $<br />

6,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest ofthe killer or killers.<br />

A day after the boys were found, school officials sent extra counselors to Weaver Elementary School, where the<br />

boys were<br />

second-graders. Residents in this suburb of <strong>Memphis</strong>, Tenn.,<br />

across the Mississippi River, aren't taking any chances until the killer is caught.<br />

Fathers accompany their children delivering newspapers. Children are being required to stay in their yards, an adult<br />

visibly present.<br />

And, "everyone is trying to cope," says PatVan Gundy, who has two boys and two girls. "But it's on their mind.<br />

Everybody is hanging on to their children a little tighter."<br />
