CLA Operations Manual<br />

This Manual is a compilation of the Letters Patent, Bylaws, Regulations and Polices adopted<br />

by the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) Board of Directors. The manual is divided into<br />

three (3) separate Parts with Sections and Subsections included in each.<br />

The CLA will follow these for all its operations. If you have any changes to suggest, please<br />

submit them to the national office by the deadlines outlined in Bylaw 22 of this manual.<br />

Definitions<br />

AGM – Annual General Meeting as referred to in Bylaw 9 – Meeting of Members<br />

Appeals Committee – A three (3) person committee tasked with reviewing appeals<br />

submitted to the CLA Head Office as referred to in the Appeals Section of this manual<br />

Association – see Canadian Lacrosse Association.<br />

Bench Personnel – individuals permitted on the bench during a game and included on a<br />

Team Registration form.<br />

Board of Directors – consists of all the directors and executive committee.<br />

Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) – also referred to as the “Association” throughout<br />

this manual.<br />

Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame –a repository for historical artifacts and includes<br />

inductees in 5 categories: Field Players, Box Players, Builders, Veteran Players and Team.<br />

Coaches – persons who are responsible for teams competing at CLA events.<br />

Convenor – as defined in the National Championship section of this manual<br />

Discipline Committee – appointed by the CLA President and as defined in the Code of<br />

Conduct and Discipline section of this manual.<br />

Directors – consists of the Executive Committee, First Nations Director, Hall of Fame<br />

Director, Past-President, elected representative of each Member Association.<br />

Equipment Review Committee – consists of a member of the Board, a member of the<br />

Executive, a Coaching representative and an Officiating representative whose mandate,<br />

duties and authority are defined in Section 16.<br />
