3.5. Access to Competitions<br />

3.5.1. A card shall be issued to the Directors and the Sector Chairpersons which<br />

allows access to all Provincial and National events. It shall be accepted<br />

throughout Canada.<br />

3.6. Sectors<br />

3.6.1. The Box, Men’s Field, Women’s Field and Intercrosse Sectors will hold an<br />

annual meeting of eligible voting delegates of the MA or AMA in conjunction<br />

with the SAGM of the CLA when deemed necessary by the MAs or AMAs, at<br />

which time a chairperson shall be elected. The Coaching and Officiating<br />

Sectors will hold meetings as per the guidelines set forth in their respective<br />

sections of this manual.<br />

3.6.2. In the absence of a chairperson or the inability of a chairperson to attend the<br />

sector meeting, the Executive will appoint a chairperson to conduct the<br />

business of the meeting.<br />

3.6.3. The Sector Chairpersons are elected for a term of two years. The Box and<br />

Intercrosse Sector Chairpersonss are to be elected in the odd number years.<br />

The Men’s Field and Women’s Field Sector Chairpersons are to be elected in<br />

the even number years. The Coaching Sector Chairperson is elected as per<br />

the Coaching Program section of this manual. The Officiating Sector<br />

Chairperson is appointed as per the Officiating Program section of this<br />

manual.<br />

3.6.3.1. Areas of Responsibility (Box, Men’s Field, Women’s Field and Inter-<br />

Crosse)<br />

3.6.3.1.1. Administration<br />

3.6.3.1.1.1. planning;<br />

3.6.3.1.1.2. budget submissions;<br />

3.6.3.1.1.3. implementation in accordance with regulations of the CLA.<br />

3.6.3.1.2. Rules and Officiating<br />

3.6.3.1.2.1. establish the rules of play for the sector, overseeing the rule<br />

change process;<br />

3.6.3.1.2.2. work in conjunction with the Officiating Sector Chairperson<br />

on the NOCP, assisting in the development of technical<br />

materials for officiating;<br />

3.6.3.1.2.3. recommend standards of officiating certification at National<br />

Championships and encourage Member Associations to<br />

adopt reasonable standards;<br />

3.6.3.1.2.4. request that the NOCP provide rule interpretations as<br />

required;<br />

3.6.3.1.2.5. set priorities for the annual directives to officials on rules.<br />
