RCFE 40-Hour Initial Certifi cation
This 40-hour legislatively mandated program
provides you the foundation for a career as an
administrator for a residential care facility or an
assisted living facility for the elderly.
State approval: This course is approved by the
CDSS for 40 hours of initial training of administrator
certifi cation.

Complete an initial 40-hour certifi cation
Pass a standardized test administered by the
Department of Social Services
Submit a completed request for Administrator
Certifi cate form
Obtain a Criminal Record Clearance from the
DOJ
Submit a non-refundable $100 processing fee
Minimum age of 21 required for RCFE
administrator licensing.

Pharmacy Technician Training
Program: Orientation
Attendance at orientation is required to register for
the Pharmacy Technician program
A math assessment on fractions, decimals, ratios
and percentages will be given following the
orientation
Calculators can be used for the math assessment
A score of 75% or higher on the assessment
is required to enter the program

Pharmacy Technician Training
Program
This 268-hour program will prepare you for the
requirements of pharmacy technician as recognized by
the California State Board of Pharmacy. The program
includes 148 hours of classroom instruction and 120
hours of clinical experience.
What you’ll learn:
Pharmacy math and calculations
Anatomy and physiology
Pharmacology and pharmacy law
Medication distribution and control measures
How you’ll benefi t:
Become prepared for an entry-level position as a
pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail pharmacy
Become licensed by the state of California Board of
Pharmacy
Required to register:
Attendance at the orientation
Immunizations
Liability insurance (learn more at orientation)
A high school diploma or GED
Purchase of textbooks
Advisory: Keyboard skills and medical terminology are
recommended. Students must pass the math assessment
with a 75% or better prior to registering for this program.
Note: The state of California requires criminal record
clearance through fi ngerprinting when applying for
registration as a pharmacy technician.

Mammography
Prepare for a career in mammography. This 40-hour
course will prepare you to take the California state
certifi cation examination. This course is ASRT approved
for 38 continuing education units and meets
ARRT state of California mammography standards.
