Washington, D.C.
Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, Verizon Center is surrounded by
an assortment of political, cultural, educational and social attractions. With
more free attractions than any other U.S. city, Washington, D.C., is one of the
most popular tourist sites in the world. Hockey fans can stroll through the city,
relax on the Mall, visit the White House, Capitol Hill or any of the numerous
monuments, museums and memorials.
Getting Around
The District of Columbia offers one of the nation’s finest means of public
transportation, the Metro. The Metro system is a clean, convenient way to
access all parts of the city and some outlying suburbs.
Metro consists of five color-coded lines, all of which stop at points within
walking distance of Verizon Center. The red, yellow and green lines deliver
passengers to the Gallery Place/Chinatown station (at the corner of 7th and F
Streets), just steps from the front entrance of Verizon Center, while the red, blue
and orange lines stop at nearby Metro Center.
