“MINI ONE DAY EVENT” FOR NOVICE RIDERS
(18 years & under and NOT to have competed at Helsington)
To be held at: Lane Farm, Crooklands
Saturday 15 th June 2013 - Commencing at 10.00am prompt
£11.00 members £17.00 non-members (including 1 st Aid)
This a NOVICE Training Event and is intended for riders who want to know what a One Day Event is like,
but who do not yet have the experience to enter a “real” one!

Class 1. Lead Rein Pony Club - Level D (walk/trot)
Class 2. Riders ‘just off’ lead rein “ “
Class 3. Riders aged 10 years old and under “ Level C
Class 4. “ “ 11 and 12 years old “ “
Class 5. “ “ 13/14/15 years old “ “
Class 6. “ “ 16/17/18 years old “ “
Class 7. Adult – aged 18 years and over “ Introductory Test 2007
Dressage - times will be posted on the Oxenholme PC website on Thurs 13th June - http://branches.pcuk.org/oxenholme
All tests are available on the Pony Club website – www.pcuk.org/index.php/disciplines/dressage
Show jumping - over a friendly and inviting course of show jumps starting at cross pole level for Class 1
Cross Country - jumps over working hunter jumps, again starting at cross pole level for Class 1
*** As in any One Day Event, Back protectors, long sleeves and medical armbands MUST be worn***
We recommend skull caps are worn by riders aged 9 years and over
Catering available FIRST AID Veterinary Surgeons on call

OXENHOLME PONY CLUB - Rules and Regulations
1. Non-competitive entries will be accepted by combination of horse & rider wishing to enter a class lower or higher
than their proper height/age, but after competing non-competitively, that combination will be non-competitive
for the remainder of the day. If in doubt please do ask.
2. All entries must be accompanied by payment in full, if by cheque payable to ‘Oxenholme Pony Club’
3. A horse/pony may only be entered once in each class. A rider can ride more than one horse/pony per class
4. Hard hats and correct dress must be worn at all competitions. Hats to the correct standard – PAS 015 or ASTM
F1163, AS/NZS 3838 1998, SNELL E2001 or EN1384 and must fit correctly
5. Back protectors and long sleeves MUST be worn for any Cross Country event
6. Snaffle bridles ONLY for Dressage class. Martingales and boots recommended for jumping phases
7. No lunging on the show field without permission from the DC
8. All hair should be securely tied up and worn tidily in a hair net
9. Pony club members wishing to wear spurs must have written permission from their DC
NOTICE TO ALL PERSONS ATTENDING THIS EVENT
It is most important that any incident involving:
1. Accident, illness or injury to any rider, spectator or any other person present at the event
2. Accident injury to any horse or other animal, whether competing at the event or not
3. Damage to any property or vehicle
is reported to the organisers immediately
HEALTH & SAFETY
The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.
For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents
occurring and must obey the instructions of all the Officials and Stewards. The risk assessment for this event can be
inspected on request.
LEGAL LIABILITY
Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law
responsible, neither the organisers of this event, nor the Pony Club, nor the agent, employee or representative of these
bodies, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land,
cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence,
breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.
The Pony Club’s purpose is to:-
encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with ponies and riding
give instruction in riding and ‘horsemastership’
educate Members to look after and take proper care of their animals
promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty
create strength of character and self-discipline
