Showground on the 14 th – 18 th August 2013. The two highest exhibits not
already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.”

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. All competitors are advised to have their own Public Liability Insurance.
2. All entries at competitors own risk. South Durham Hunt Pony Club and its Supporters will
not accept any responsibility to any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to any
competitor, family, friends, animals or property,
3. All entries must be submitted to the Secretary on the correct entry form with correct fee
and by the closing date for pre-entries.
4. South Durham Hunt Pony Club show committee have the right to refuse entry without
explanation.
5. Mountain & Moorland Ponies must state breed on entry form. Registered ponies must
state reg no.
6. No stallions or colts allowed on the show field.
7. Riders age as at 01/01/13.
8. All ridden ponies must be 4 years and over.
9. A correctly fitted BHS approved hat and appropriate footwear must be worn when riding
a horse or pony in or out of the ring. Handlers 16 years and under must wear a correctly
fitted BHS approved hat when handling a horse or pony in hand.
10. Horses and ponies are only allowed in the designated areas.
10. For Pony Club Members Spurs must not be worm unless the rider has attained B test or
has written permission from their District Commissioner. Spurs must not be worn in M&M
ridden classes.
11. The Judges decision is final.
12. All objections must be made in writing to the secretary’s caravan within 30 minutes of the
incident with a deposit of £30.00, which will be returned if the objection is upheld.
13. Entry fees will not be returned where a horse, pony or competitor is unable to compete.
However, a substitution can be made at the Secretary’s discretion.
14. In the event of cancellation of the show by South Durham Hunt Pony Club, entry fees will
be returned.
15. South Durham Hunt Pony Club reserve the right to amalgamate classes where there are
less than 4 entries in a class.

Young Handlers Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes 5 & 6 to
compete.
Pony Club Horse/Pony – Ring 1 – Not before 2.30 pm

7. Pony 12.2 hh and under rider 12 years and under (lead-rein permitted)
(may included a small jump)
8. Pony 14.2 hh and under rider 16 years and under (may include a small jump)
9. Horses over 14.2 and riders up to the age of 25 (may include a small jump)
Pony Club Pony Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes 7 to 9 to
compete.

Handy Pony – Ring 3 – 11 am to 2 pm
Competitors to complete course in between classes. Each round will be timed. Results
for each of the following classes will be announced at approximately 2.30 pm.

21. Race Horse To Riding Horse
Horse to have raced at least once (under rules or point to point). Walk, Trot, Canter only.
Riders any age.
22. Ridden Piebald/Skewbald
Open ridden Piebald/Skewbald mare or gelding, 4 years old & over. Riders any age.
Unregistered Mountain & Moorland Ring 4 – Not before 12.30 pm
Judge: Mrs N Thompson, Co Durham
23. Unregistered Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have
attained their 9 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an
attendant and shown in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband
only.
24. Unregistered Open Ridden Mountain & Moorland Small and Large Breeds
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.
Class will be split between small and large breeds if there are enough entries.
Unregistered Mountain & Moorland Ridden Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners
from classes 23 & 24 to compete.

Mountain & Moorland Ridden – Ring 4 – Not before 2 pm

25. The Colne Stud / Equifest Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein
Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred
Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh A or B. Mare or
gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their
9 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown
in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.
26. The Choynowski / Equifest Mountain & Moorland First Ridden
Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred
Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh A or B. Mare or
gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their
12 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.
27. The Hewitt Family/ Equifest Open Ridden Mountain & Moorland Small & Large
Breeds (class will be split if sufficient entries)
Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred
Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest,
Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.
Mountain & Moorland Ridden Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes
25-27 to compete.
Clear Round Showjumping – Ring 5 – 10 am – 12 pm approximately
28. Clear Round. Entries at the ring. £2.00 per entry. Rosette to each clear round.
Showjumping – Ring 5 – Not Before 12 pm

29. Lead Rein/Assisted Showjumping. For riders on the lead rein or those requiring a ‘runner’
to guide them around a course of jumps. Riders entering this class are not permitted to
enter the remaining of the show jumping classes. Maximum height of fences is 35 cms.

37. Lead Rein/Assisted WHP. For riders on the lead rein or those requiring a ‘runner’ to
guide them around a course of jumps. Rider 9 years and under. Riders entering this
class are not permitted to enter the remaining of the WHP classes. Maximum height of
fences is 35 cms.
38. WHP Rider 10 years & under. Maximum height of fences 40 cms.
39. WHP Rider 11-14 years. Maximum height of fences 50 cms.
40. WHP Rider 15 years & over. Maximum height of fences 65 cms.
WHP Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes 37-40 to compete.
