Showground on the 14 th – 18 th August 2013. The two highest exhibits not<br />

already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.”<br />

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY<br />

1. All competitors are advised to have their own Public Liability Insurance.<br />

2. All entries at competitors own risk. South Durham Hunt Pony Club and its Supporters will<br />

not accept any responsibility to any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to any<br />

competitor, family, friends, animals or property,<br />

3. All entries must be submitted to the Secretary on the correct entry form with correct fee<br />

and by the closing date for pre-entries.<br />

4. South Durham Hunt Pony Club show committee have the right to refuse entry without<br />

explanation.<br />

5. Mountain & Moorland Ponies must state breed on entry form. Registered ponies must<br />

state reg no.<br />

6. No stallions or colts allowed on the show field.<br />

7. Riders age as at 01/01/13.<br />

8. All ridden ponies must be 4 years and over.<br />

9. A correctly fitted BHS approved hat and appropriate footwear must be worn when riding<br />

a horse or pony in or out of the ring. Handlers 16 years and under must wear a correctly<br />

fitted BHS approved hat when handling a horse or pony in hand.<br />

10. Horses and ponies are only allowed in the designated areas.<br />

10. For Pony Club Members Spurs must not be worm unless the rider has attained B test or<br />

has written permission from their District Commissioner. Spurs must not be worn in M&M<br />

ridden classes.<br />

11. The Judges decision is final.<br />

12. All objections must be made in writing to the secretary’s caravan within 30 minutes of the<br />

incident with a deposit of £30.00, which will be returned if the objection is upheld.<br />

13. Entry fees will not be returned where a horse, pony or competitor is unable to compete.<br />

However, a substitution can be made at the Secretary’s discretion.<br />

14. In the event of cancellation of the show by South Durham Hunt Pony Club, entry fees will<br />

be returned.<br />

15. South Durham Hunt Pony Club reserve the right to amalgamate classes where there are<br />

less than 4 entries in a class.<br />

Young Handlers – Ring 1 – Not before 1 pm<br />

5. Young Handlers 11-16 years<br />

6. Young Handlers 10 years and under (may be accompanied in the ring)<br />

Young Handlers Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes 5 & 6 to<br />

compete.<br />

Pony Club Horse/Pony – Ring 1 – Not before 2.30 pm<br />

7. Pony 12.2 hh and under rider 12 years and under (lead-rein permitted)<br />

(may included a small jump)<br />

8. Pony 14.2 hh and under rider 16 years and under (may include a small jump)<br />

9. Horses over 14.2 and riders up to the age of 25 (may include a small jump)<br />

Pony Club Pony Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes 7 to 9 to<br />

compete.<br />

Best Combination - Ring 2 – Not Before 10.30 am<br />

(to start on completion of Class 1)<br />

Competitors to complete course in between classes. Each round will be timed. Results<br />

for each of the following classes will be announced at approximately 2.30 pm.<br />

Horse to have raced at least once (under rules or point to point). Walk, Trot, Canter only.<br />

22. Ridden Piebald/Skewbald<br />

Open ridden Piebald/Skewbald mare or gelding, 4 years old & over. Riders any age.<br />

Unregistered Mountain & Moorland Ring 4 – Not before 12.30 pm<br />

Judge: Mrs N Thompson, Co Durham<br />

23. Unregistered Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein<br />

Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have<br />

attained their 9 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an<br />

attendant and shown in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband<br />

only.<br />

24. Unregistered Open Ridden Mountain & Moorland Small and Large Breeds<br />

Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.<br />

Class will be split between small and large breeds if there are enough entries.<br />

Unregistered Mountain & Moorland Ridden Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners<br />

from classes 23 & 24 to compete.<br />

Mountain & Moorland Ridden – Ring 4 – Not before 2 pm<br />

25. The Colne Stud / Equifest Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein<br />

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred<br />

Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh A or B. Mare or<br />

gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their<br />

9 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown<br />

in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.<br />

26. The Choynowski / Equifest Mountain & Moorland First Ridden<br />

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred<br />

Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh A or B. Mare or<br />

gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their<br />

12 th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.<br />

27. The Hewitt Family/ Equifest Open Ridden Mountain & Moorland Small & Large<br />

Breeds (class will be split if sufficient entries)<br />

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred<br />

Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest,<br />

Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.<br />

Mountain & Moorland Ridden Championship: 1 st and 2 nd Prizewinners from classes<br />

25-27 to compete.<br />

Clear Round Showjumping – Ring 5 – 10 am – 12 pm approximately<br />

28. Clear Round. Entries at the ring. £2.00 per entry. Rosette to each clear round.<br />

Showjumping – Ring 5 – Not Before 12 pm<br />

29. Lead Rein/Assisted Showjumping. For riders on the lead rein or those requiring a ‘runner’<br />

to guide them around a course of jumps. Riders entering this class are not permitted to<br />

enter the remaining of the show jumping classes. Maximum height of fences is 35 cms.<br />

40. WHP Rider 15 years & over. Maximum height of fences 65 cms.<br />
