FOREWORD<br />

The 1993 Paper Recycling Markets Directory continues to follow the<br />

changes in the paper recycling industry. Following improvements in the<br />

market, a greater number of companies have entered the collection side of<br />

the business. To reflect changing market conditions, we have added more<br />

than 500 new listings, including materials recovery facilities, paper stock<br />

dealers, brokers and end consuming mills<br />

A feature new to this year’s directory is an alphabetical index of all the<br />

paper stock dealers. As the paper recycling industry moves from a<br />

regional business to one with international connections, this addition will<br />

provide quick reference to find various companies.<br />

MARKET OVERVIEW<br />

After several years of slack demand, it appears paper stock grades<br />

could finally be coming around. Although 1993 holds some promise for<br />

paper recyclers, there are a number of pitfalls yet to be crossed before<br />

dealers see the end of the tunnel.<br />

An oversupply of low grades, which created havoc on the market from<br />
